that purrs while he's biting the crap out of you! When we picked him, the lady was telling us about all the kittens' personalities and when she picked him up, she says "and this one... this one purrs all the time. He's a real lover" Well, with that being said and his unique pattern on his head (orange fur in the shape of an "H") we chose him to become part of our brood.

He was tiny so I'm sure she had no idea how fiesty he would be, but when a cat is purring with contentment while he attacks... well, it's unique to say the least! He's always on the move as most kittens are, but when you bend down to stroke him in a rare moment of rest... he opens his eyes, starts to purr loudly and then grabs your hand with both front paws and teeth... all the time so happy and content.

This should be an interesting first year with him. There's a lot of cussing in the house right now with him being the usual cause.

He plays great with the big dogs, they rough house with him and bite at him and have picked him up in thier mouths to fling him to the floor. I used to admonish them for playing so rough. But sometimes I think he deserves it.... and I think he likes it

It's great having a boisterous, energetic force in the house again, however... I can't wait to get him neutered.

He isn't attacking you...not really. He was weaned too early and needs to be trained not to "bite" when what he really wants is affection and food.

What eastham said makes perfect sense.
What I know is this....I have an almost 20 pound cat now who thinks this okay behavior because when he was little & he "played" like that with my mother, she did not reprimand him. I'm not sure what would be appropriate, but I always sort of thump Fitz on the nose when he tries to bite like that.

My mother has a kitten who loves to purr while he's clawing everything. He reaches out when he's happy and latches onto the chair, the pillow, your leg. I love the little bugger but that's one tight grip.

I'm trying to teach him that he doesn't always need to do that. He loves to reach up the back of your leg when you're putting food into his dish. Youch!

Good luck with the little one.
