When will it stop?? The hatred, the prejudice, the racism?
Yesterday while I was working, I had about an hour to kill before I had to head to my next client so I went into this huge toy store in a town near mine, to get some christmas ideas.
When I went in there were two men sitting outside on the sidewalk that had a sign that said "Impeach Obama!" I just rolled my eyes, and entered the store. When I came out about 45 minutes later one of the men approached me and asked me if I was a "Ni**er Voter?"
I informed him that it was none of his business and started towards my car. He then yelled "That means yes!", opened his jacket up, and then pointed toward a gun he had in his waistband.
It scared me! Badly! I jumped in my car and sped away!
What is the world coming to? I understand that they are many people who do not accept our new President-Elect, but why go to such extreme measures? They didn't know me, and I didn't know them. They were just so filled with hate for a man they don't know, just because of his color.
This election should not have been about race, and unfortunately that is what it has amounted to.
I'm starting to fear that unfortunately President Obama is not going to make it to the White House. There is roughly 75 days until the inaugeration and I'm sure they are going to be many asassination attempts on this man. This man who wants to make something of himself. This man who has a loving wife, and 2 doting daughters. And all because of his color, people want this man dead.
Its just so sad. I fear for the next generation.

you are the only one who can make these changes, you and your generation. if you demand that such ignorance and hate be abolished, it will be. the simplist way is to shun those types of people. they will perish or enter the fold. the man you encountered was very weak, undoubtedly he is the dog and the swine that Jesus referred to when he cautioned us about our pearls. he would not have even considered provoking another man. one of my complaints about life is such things never happen to me. but such things happen to few men. perhaps your brother or a male role model you admire might confront these men? i know i would if such an opportunity arose. we be jammin

Is it legal in your state to carry a gun like that? Flashing it like that within the context of what they were saying/shouting at you is considered being threatened with a weapon. Did you call police??
One thing common to such mind sets is that they know they lost the battle, but they refuse to lose the war without taking some with them.

Here in Ohio as long as you take the required test and obtain the right permits, you can carry a license to a concealed weapon. Although brandishing it like that is still illegal. I did go to the police station in that town and I did make a report. But I have no idea who these men are, and I highly doubt they were still there when the police went to check it out.

He is charismatic, glib and good looking to some....He has no qualifications......His associates are thugs and anti American.

You just informed him that he was within his right to do as he pleased (because you showed fear).

It should not have scared you. It should not have scared you badly.
You should have asked what he intended to do with his sidearm (as you draw yours). The minute he pulls it, kill him (or is your state one that punishes the law-abiding citizen and protects the criminals?).

Your state permits citizens to carry a weapon, yet you "choose" not to. Each race will always have some negativity towards the next. That's just how its going to be. Birds mingle with birds, women pee & poop as they fill each other in with new gossip, and each race prefers to be with their kind. Chicago is so very very segregated it's not even funny.
But we all have rights, and you had every right to defend yourself. I am glad to hear that you reported it, but next time, put your country first: stand up for the "first black" president. I mean, all this talk about "hope and change" but yet you will not stand up for the guy??? LOL

Lower yourself to his level? Killing is wrong, despite being 'legal' in various jurisdictions. Clearly, they guy was incapable of rational thought....you did right by making a quick exit.

There are a variety of cultural and social reasons that motivate people to 'be with their own kind'. (Common interests, religion, etc.) Race, though related, is not the motivating factor....except in cases of racism.
