When the wind does blow, we run like lambs to port for shelter and a little rest and whatever. And so, we are currently 30 miles east of the Humber, waiting for light and the tide, so we can head in for a couple of days whilst the north wind and the sea get it on. There is also going to be some change of crew; and old friend from my schooldays is joining the ship; and we will be working together. It's going to be messy!
And best of all, Jools is coming up to stay the night and we get some quality time together. So if you hear some screaming, do not, I repeat do not, come to help!
I have been away for four weeks and apart from the obvious I have paperwork for the house to sign, and then we go out for a meal.
I have been told by the head of the survey team that people from the office sometimes read peoples blogs; and so not to mention the ships name or people on it, and certainly not to mention when we go to the pub as it is against company rules.
Well, I have an interview with another company when I get off, and quite frankly, if wern't for the time ashore and the socialisng, this job would be pretty unbearable. So, there. I promise not to walk into the harbour or fall down the stairs or do something else stupid on the way back from my evening walk.
Scouts honour.
So, for the next couple of days, maybe three, I won't be around. I hope you can all play nice, and the special needs folks just make sure you take the medicine and think before you type. OK.
