From a Distance
To all of us on dating sites, we see things from afar.
From high above, the earth is a spinning ball a blue and green
swirl with white streaks of clouds and snow capped mountains
A blend of natures work and science a tell tale story from above
At a closer look we see mountains and continents of different
shapes and sizes, all aglow. Some with sunlight others glow with
man made light….Still others are in darkness…..
Much the same as our lives today…..
Distance is the key some say, yet others say, No, love comes to us
as we grow….Does distance matter, of course it matters…..True
Love doesn’t happen, It’s a spark That’s right a deep true lasting love
is the result of time, mutual respect and learning about the other person….
Distance can be looked at as an instrument playing in harmony with
the rest of the band…..keeping in tune and rhythm with life, time and hope….
Distance helps to keep us in check, helps us determine the difference
between love and lust, hate and love
From a distance we see obstacles, mountains to climb and deep cold seas to
Circumvent From the wide roaring rivers, to the hot sand filled deserts,
Over highways and byways through tunnels and over bridges we trudge on
As we keep on in our search for the “one”

IB4U: I love your deep thoughts and your questions.
I also love Bette Midler.
We will climb over and go through any obstacles, searching for that one individual who can make our lives complete.
I think people that form a relationship in later years are more apt to truly 'love' one another. We become more mellow with age. Things that were once so important to us, become less so. We tend to see everything in an entirely different light. We yearn for the friendship, companionship and gentleness another has to offer. Some have been fortunate enough to have had a relationship such as this in their lives.
Growing 'together' is key. Together you can face those obstacles, whatever they may be. And, if needed, adjust that fine tuning to adapt with each other. Furthermore, if you ever do get the opportunity to spend your life with a compatible person, it could be rather fun to learn about that person. Life is full of little surprises. Some are good....some are bad. When there is too much distance in a relationship, the spark goes out. 
On the other hand, we can only hope and pray that all in this world learn to live in peace and harmony and not too, too far off in the distance.
