Blogland lost another of its star bloggers over the weekend. Jentoblues, citing unreconcilable differences with the political posters, has gone on to join the diaspora of Bloglanders somewhere out there in the virtual world.
Dr Jen was a terrific writer and, in my opinion, the very best of the "gut" writers. She never wrote herself in as the "heroine" who overcame great obstacles and persevered into the wonderful person she wrote about. She simply did it. And her recollections were brutally honest and remarkably real.
Jennifer leaves behind the many friends and readers she developed over a half-decade here at MD. To those friends and readers I say: despair not. Just as I'm sure Jennifer can read these words, I believe she'll be back someday soon to write those of her own. For this is Blogland where: you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

Jen is one of my favorite writers and I hope to see her return someday. I was always glad to see a new blog from her and would re-fill my coffee cup to sip while enjoyed her words. She was right to be disgusted with some of the crazy stuff on here.

Jen and her writing talent are very special to me, also. I can understand how it can make one weary when reading all the drivel that goes through these pages. But, I have faith in that gal...Even the strongest person knows "when to hold em and knows when to fold em...and, here's hoping she's just busy with other things in life at this time.
Someone who has been through and survived all that Jen has, will NOT run away from anything...She'll just regroup and return....Trust me. Wouldn't it be exciting if, when she returns, she announces a newly written book? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Fondly,
KK

Rog, Thanks so much for this. I have been trying since yesterday to find out what happened & where Jennifer was off to. You must know I am one of her biggest fans! I am so, so sad to see her gone...even sadder to know now the reason for the disappearance. I do so hope she reads this & knows we'd love to see her back here ASAP.
BTW....wonderful job you have done here in informing us. ~*~

One thing everyone can admit to about her is that she was very very real, maybe even too real. Got to have respect for anyone who can share to the world what she did, bravo
I am quite sure she will be back, here's why, if a person can overcome all the obstacles she did, how in the world could she let some people internet views about politics stop her.

I enjoyed her stories because I could relate to that culture. I've been out of that scene for many years now thank God. She is a very good writer and I hope she comes back.

Testimonial:
I came to blogland at MD quite by accident. I had learned that the man I was seeing - the one who supposedly wanted us to be married, etc., etc., ad nauseum - had a current profile here...
I'll skip all the melodrama.
In a nutshell: he left; I stayed. I was delighted with the concept of blogging; the possibilities of sharing thoughts and values, tales of fact or fiction, rants and memories, laughs and literature... and I put a toe in...
And Jen was the first person to write to me. She encouraged my tentative writings and became my first online friend. We even spoke on the phone! With my innate shyness I would never have suggested it, but Jen was Jen: gregarious, up-front, confident and genuinely friendly - and totally without bombast.
She even made up a cd of music for me, selecting songs she sussed out just for me, based upon her spot-on intuitive sense. I was flattered - and slightly astonished to be the recipient of her attention. I remain in her musical debt. In addition, I remain her biggest fan. No one writes with such raw power and truth. As Roger said: she was always brutally honest and real.
And Jen is the bravest person I've ever encountered. She's an amazing woman, completely unlike anyone I've ever known, no artifice, no shucking and jiving, no pretense. I only wish I lived near enough to share a cup of French pressed java with her as we discussed the trials and tribulations of online dating and relationships - and life.
Jen, Jen we hardly knew ye.

I hope you're right and that soon she'll return. I loved how you described her as it is exactly as I see her. Gut real!
Redtigr what a lovely testimomy to her. See Jen ( I to believe you'll read this) you have brought about so much from your own goodness and ways of connecting with others.

I am in agreement with most of the comments here. Her blogs are always straightforward and never sugar coated, because life is like that.
She overcame so much and is giving back to the community from her experiences.
I hope she returns also.

I understand why completely. I have been spending time on another site also. There people can tell there point of views much like on here but you don't hear any bashing of people personally at all. I have heard not one personal attack. Sure there is generalizing like, Democrats are this, or Republicans are that, but no personal name calling etc. like on here. No one writes personal emails back and forth judging anyone and taking it a step farther to run a person down and say "I am better than you" attitude. It's totally refreshing. They can agree to disagree. As much as I love politics, I've stopped reading most here, it's apparent I don't like Obama and state why, McCain isn't much better, but I do have a right to my opinions without people getting personal and nasty about it. I repeat what I see on the news or read on the net, some say they are lies, who knows anymore, I'm just like many of you when getting information, but I've never, never, called anyone here a liar, and I don't appreciate some emails that I've gotten either. So I don't blame her for leaving but I wish she'd just realize those ppl are shallow and not worth it, and the block button works both ways. tc Lost

It's unfortunate that the environment here sometimes precipitates a desire to leave, particularly because those who choose to leave are often the very ones that we wish would stay.
Jen is certainly one of those who will be missed, as her writing is as honest as it gets, and her willingness to share her experiences has given many of us an opportunity to hear stories we otherwise may never have heard.

Well Rog...
Tell me again...is there any reason for us to stay? What with Jen gone.... She was the first one to write to me too...she and Sunnie....
I received a couple of those same CDs from Jen that Red mentioned.....those are awesome. I still listen to them here in the store.
Guess I better get it together and pay the bet off before she totally disappears.
Damn...
