They had been together most of the evening on this their first date. Both knew it would be a good meeting and things were really going much better than expected for a first date.

Each was trying to be on their best behavior, so they only had four drinks the whole evening, that shared over food and lots of good conversation.

As things can happen, one thing led to another and they took a ride out to a nearby family cottage for a late night walk together down by the lake. But, as is common in that area of the country in an early June, the full moon was quickly covered by clouds and they were suddenly drenched by a warm rain.

“I’m all wet and slippery now! “she joked as she pulled away and started to run across the grass towards the water. He took off after her, of course, then almost tripped over her as she fell and slid into a puddle of water in a low spot where the grass met the sand.

Within a heartbeat, he had also lost his footing and was sliding down next to her, grabbing her outstretched arm along the way and pulling her even farther into the standing water and a little mud.

And so there they were, on their first date together while trying to act proper: laying somewhat tangled together in a patch of mud where the grass meets the sand, laughing like little kids -- suddenly tightly hugging while, at the same time, splashing and rubbing mud on each other.

If the first hug could be called a little different, the first kiss was even more so, as he rolled her over on top of him. When he pulled her face forward to kiss her, she playfully darkened his nose and forehead with a glob of wet dirt.

And so, as the rain cloud blew over and the full moon came out again, there they were, she straddling him and they locked in a snug embrace. Kissing, to be sure, but both laughing so much it was somewhere between passionate and playfulness.

Silly antics can be awesome when your hormones are in a rage, but the moment’s passion subsided when she rose off of him and playfully threw a little mud his way. That, of course, was returned as he was getting up and they realized they looked as though they had been rolling around in a mud hole for quite some time, rather than just a minute or two.

She ran, he chased. She through more wet sand and dirt and he ducked. When he finally caught her they were again rolling around on the ground, but this time it was on the wet sand next to the lake.

Suddenly, there was no smearing or throwing of wet dirt. What there were were two sets of busy hands actively sliding over all the muddy surfaces and crevasses of the other’s body as they held each other closely and kissed.

By then, their clothing was filthy. And, the lake was right there. So, of course, the natural thing to do was to strip and bathe in the water. Which, after a great deal of passionate rolling around, and minutes of slowly undressing each other, they considered.

Then, lips joined hands exploring and cleaning the bodies, neither in any real hurry to get into the water yet. As each cupped water out of the lake to clean the dirt off one small section of the other’s body at a time they would tenderly kiss the clean area. This, of course not being the most efficient way of doing things, took a little time. And, of course, the natural juices were flowing and their bodies were at full arousal.

But, both still trying to be somewhat in their best behavior mode and neither of them wanted to seem to be in any real hurry -- she wondering if starting mutual fondling is classed as first date sex and both still holding back some on kissing the most interesting of the other’s body parts after they cleaned them with the water.

The lake water looked very inviting. The rain had been pleasantly warm and the air felt wonderful against their naked bodies as they embraced. But there was a bit of a surprise when they jumped into the lake because it was not at all warm yet in early June.

And so in their heat of passion, nature took its natural turn and some body parts that had seconds before been fully aroused and receptive were suddenly changed into a less than compatible state as their howls of laughter suddenly turned to yelps of surprise.

(to be continued . . . maybe)

First dates can be interesting, if you play your cards right. But, sometimes, when the couple gets along very well, it can be a strong foundation for a long-standing relationship.

To prove the point, after I had already driven five hours to pick her up, we were later stuck in a long traffic jam.

Of course, we get along really, really well . . . so she suggested, as entertainment, that we compose a story to post.

This is part of the result. It may or not get better as it goes, but my thinking is that it may also become a little to steamy for this site. . . .

Ironically, both times I have been really in love, the relationship began with passion. In both cases, I think we would have been happily married today, but external forces (interfering parents) eventually prevented marriage.
