It's that time of year again! All those yummy treats coming our way to entice us. I baked some homemade cookies the other day, and darn things just kept disappearing! After all, I did have to check out how each batch tasted as I removed them from the oven! I did share some with my aunt, who says now that they have disappeared from her house because they kept falling into her coffee cup!

Next month I'll be making my famous Buckeyes, or as non-Ohio people call them, peanut butter balls. I always prepare a bucketful for each of my sons, as well as each grandchild. Add to that list my neighbors and relatives too. What can I say? It's a specialty of mine. I also like to make the fudge for all. Yes, you guessed right - those batches will also have to be tested by me as I prepare them. It's a lot of work, but the rewards exceed the many hours I spend in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, after all is prepared and eaten, we're all heading for the gym in January.

I've been invited to a party for tomorrow nite. Today has been baking day. I have several dozen banana muffins. Then I spotted a canned of pumpkin so I naturally had to bake some pumpkin muffin...unfortunately I'm now out of sugar!

We don't bake a lot of sweets around my home because we don't need the calories but, we are having plenty of friends over and that is sweet in itself considering I have only my kids here in Tennessee. I have friends that will be traveling through and have made many since moving here so, we will have a full house which should be fun. So the sweetest part of the Holidays for us will be the company which I think is great too, saves your teeth and you don't have to work out afterwards lol. tc Lost

FYI - I was baking the oatmeal cookies just for kicks. Whenever cold weather approaches and it's time for the holidays, I start baking! They are not a part of my holiday goodies, which come to my guests at Christmas. Anyway, I can enjoy the oatmeal goodies and perhaps lower my cholesterol!!
