Today has been one of those days where all the hugs in the world hasn't really helped that much. As I sit here and type this blog I'm worried sick that things are more serious with my mom's health than I had ever imagined.
She has lost so much weight, freezes all the time, and wants to sleep 18 hours out of the day. She started having a hurting in her lungs (chest x-rays shows spots on her lungs). She's been having major nose bleeds (3-8 times per day). She went and had a CT scan and it showed a mass in her nasal passage. She went yesterday to get her yearly mammogram and the results from that shows a major lump in one of her breast. She's having a PET scan done right now. I just talked to my sister and the doctors are telling her that if it's not cancer then there's the possibility that it could be some sort of lung disease.
I sit here and try to keep the positive thoughts flowing but yet in reality I see that's there's a possibility that I can't blame all this on her diabetis anymore. My husband told me a few months ago that she was showing alot of signs of a cancer patient. (His first wife was one so he should know the signs) Please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers. I will update on her as soon as we find out the results of the PET scan...

oh sweetie.. I know what you are going through.. my dad is dealing with the same thing right now.. he goes for biopsy next week.. and I am sick with worry.

Shan: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'm not a doctor, but don't jump to conclusions. It could very well be something really simple. I know that her wanting to sleep excessively could be because she may be depressed. My sister was like that for some time, until they prescribed her some meds. She is a heart patient, and that happens often with them. The spots could be pneumonia.........so many things. I hope all goes well for all of you. Please do keep us posted.
