Silhouttes
Silhouttes in my window...shaded purple gray, Twilight softly falling, ends another day. Dancing shadows linger across yonder wall, Beckoning the darkness, midnight's distant call.
Stillness settles gently on silhouttes so fair, Dancing in the shadows, no one there to care. Curtains ruffle lightly in a breeze I cannot feel, Welcome charcoal darkness, my teardrops to conceal.
Teardrops shed for no one, time alone 'tis all, Swiftly passing years gone by, never to recall. Little girls and love that's lost, stolen by the years, 'Tis time itself so fleeting that touches off the tears.
Seasons of a lifetime, forever passed away, Tomorrow's but a shadow of another passing day. Distant voices echo, veiled in misty mind, Yet clearly I can hear them like a crystal chime.
Oh silhouttes of long ago, do play for me this night, Dance those happy shadowed days to fill me with delight. When morning dawns silently, another passing day, I'll hold onto those memories, shaded purple gray.
