so...what happened to the first $700 billion? And Obama wants $150 to $700 billion to "rescue" America with.
Seriously, I want whatever software the Feds are using to print money with...cause all it is, is paper and ink backed by a bunch of hot air that is making the American dollar worth LESS then paper and ink.
NOBODY wanted the last bailout, it plugged phonelines and email boxes at most political offices...this one will do the same I'm sure. AND this one will pass I'm sure.
So..if the goverment can do whatever they want with no regard whatsoever of what the people want...isnt that considered a socialist regime?
If right this minute you stuck your fist in the air and said: THIS SUCKS AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT! Know what would happen? ...nothing. Now imagine if 4 million Americans did the same thing, guess what would happen? ...right! NOTHING! Because those 4 million Americans are too busy in unemployment lines to get out on the street and revolt.
Our goverment has become wise like a fox. It knows damn well and good we will just roll over and let them have our way with us....we have turned into a bunch of wimpy pussies. STUPID, wimpy pussies at that to allow this to come this far without action.
If this bail out passes, you can kiss America goodbye for sure, in fact...you probably can anyway. ANY country as deeply in dept as ours is destined to fail without a great leader...and Obama aint it. We don't need a guy that shoots hoops and has a nice smile right now, we need a guy that can drag Senators, Congress people and CEO's out in the street and kick their asses good. Bringing back the Clinton people isn't going to do a damn bit of good either.
Save your money kiddies. Stock up on food and pack rat gas. Wouldn't hurt to put a new set of tires on your car either....if you live in the mid west...it's a long drive to a border.

I say that for the the economy just did not fail in one day. They knew it was a problem 3 years ago and did noting to try to fix it.
This is direct proof that the free economy does not work and will never work when only the USA is playing fair.
It is also proof that the rest of the world feed off the USA. We have more imports than exports--so where does it stop.

When is it going to get into Americans thick skulls that both parties are nothing more than two horses pulling the same wagon.

What is/isn't Obama gonna do?
As I understood it...Obama isn't providing details, until he's president.
He's been accused by some of "going to take from the people" and some call him "the messiah". Heh. Sure, I'm suspicious of any leader, or leader-to-be, that claims they will solve all the world's woes. Obama seems to have a reasonably grounded view of what can be accomplished, and how to accomplish it....but, of course, we won't know until it's "too late".
The big problem, as goodcatch points out, candidates make promises to gain power, then repeat the same old mistakes (scams) that prior administrations made, and the public isn't willing to do anything about it.

So far, $7.7 Trillion in bailout pledges of taxpayer money for Greenspans & Paulsons Kids,
thats $24K for every man , woman and child in the US; and 9 times what has been spent so far on the Afghan & Iraqi war.
This staggering amount would payoff half of all US mortgages, yet the greedy bastard banks are using the money to pay exec & director salary and make acquisitions.
The credit risk on the bogus collateral they are exchanging is staggering, marked to market the system is bankrupt.
The end result will be a sovereign credit disaster of epic proportions, which will sink the US into permanent debtorship.
These blue blood traitors have sold our countries future out from under us and screwed our children.
Bailouts? There should be public seizure of assets, prosecutions and executions. Only in America.
