As I have told a few people on here that the Federal government is reading e-mails that are sen over the internet. Yes, they can do it for it is allowed under the Bush Administration. The FBI and HLS are listing the people who send this junk around for fun or for real--so get a hold on your self.
Here is one of the lates warning:

Alison Raphael, Inter Press Service: "Leading civil rights groups Monday denounced the rise in hate crimes taking place in the United States, especially against Hispanics, and called for passage of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crime Prevention Act (LLEHCP) to ensure federal jurisdiction when local officials fail to act. Hate crimes against Hispanics have risen steadily for the last four years, and crimes against African-American, Asian-American and Jewish people, as well as gays and lesbians, all increased last year, according to FBI statistics gathered for the Uniform Crime Reporting Program."

So men and women start sending the love letters

Kentuck,,,,

Thanks for the update,,,,
No one should be sending hateful emails, it's just wrong.

Now, as far as hate crimes go,,,, well, they are wrong too. But I don't agree with premise on some level.

Let me explain,

I'm about as white as a white man can get. If I hit a white guy with a ball bat, and smash his brains while calling him Redneck,,, it's manslaughter, unless I planned it.

Now, if I hit a black guy with a ball bat, and call him n_____ (insert foul word here), then it's a hate crime, and I get a greater punishement from the government.

If I hit a guy who likes to sleep with other guys, and splatter his brains all over the place, while calling him GAY, then it's a hate crime and I get a greater punishment.

Now this seems straight forward to most people, but my question is this....
What happened to the fact, that I hit a guy with a f***ing ball bat and splattered his brains all over the place. THAT ALONE is all that is needed, and should punished by the same strict punishement as if I had done it to a black man, asian man, or gay man.

The advent of the HATE CRIME laws, only serves to further divide our country across cultural lines. Just toughen up the laws about violence, and communicating threats, etc.

Then, even woman who are pursued or vitumized by a stalker or domestic partner, can have the same protection under the law as a Gay Man. And I can have the same protection from persons who would do bodily harm to me, regardless of the race.

I agree somewhat with bardnsage..the 9 people that beat my brother and left him for dead on the side of a country road were black...yet no naacp showed up in court with us...why cant everyone be treated the same no matter the color of a persons skin..a crime this bad shouldnt matter if your black or white..its still evil

the Federal government is reading e-mails
No doubt. A friend of mine, a Canadian citizen, no criminal record, an engineer has been refused entry to the states on the basis of questionable, private, e-mails he sent to a fellow Canadian (routed throught the states). Nothing even resembling 'hate' literature....he merely questioned american administration's choices.

Questioned. No accusations.

They deemed him a threat to national security.

you know Kentuck you seem to keep bringing this up.

I think all of us know at this point some aspect of government is monitoring most all communications, whether it be phone. email, blogging or what have you.

But it seems to be a reoccuring theme in your blogs.

Hate mail is wrong, so is micro managing every aspect of everyones life.

How did you vote?
Did you call your congressman as this crime against our constitutional first amendment right was being trashed?

Next it will be the thought police.

They will judge your intentions without any given actions.

So instead of blogging and reminding us all about what they are doing about the removal of our freedom why don't you take some of that retirement time and start petitioning to have the right to discuss issues freely without the threat of being put on a list.

This is in all actually creating more strife and division amongst the people. It only serves to segregate people even more as everyone gets the "walking on eggshell" feeling.

Fear is never a good tactic as a unifier.

Divide and conquer it seems to be working, and the more we "walk on eggshells" the better it works for them.

I have hispanic grandchildren, and I still have issues with the numbers of illegal aliens in this country, and how open our borders are.

I don't care whether you are blue, pink, purple, or green. If you commit a crime, do the time.

I don't care who you sleep with just don't ask me to hop in your bed.

I don't care what your religious beliefs are just allow me mine.

And there is not much I have written in a blog, on a forum, or spoken over the phone that I would not have said to my congressman, ask them... I am sure they see my number come up and say " oh God here she is again".

Can they say the same for you?

I agree with butterfly! Another thing...Obama won the election because many believed in him, I don't think it had much to do about race...he is mixed race! That is what many of us are! A new era. Hopefully hate crimes will decrease in time!
