John Greenleaf Whittier No longer forward nor behind I look in hope or fear; But, grateful, take the good I find, The best of now and here. I know I have been a downer for the past month or so and there have been a few really good people that have watched this downhill slide of mine and even though I back away from people when I get into this funk, they, those few brave souls, would not allow me to back away further. With small nudges and prods (just like the masi giraffe parents to a newborne) each time I have stumbled as of late, they have come to me in small ways .. an email just because, a phone call just to say: "talk, I am here to listen", or "I miss you, please know that when you are ready, I am here". So on this occasion about to befall us, I am thankful for those people in my life that have never given up on me, have stood behind me in my insanity and helped me strive toward the light without meds... You are my saving grace and I thank you.
There are a few things that have made me realize that life does indeed go on, even when we lose those things that matter.. family, friends.
On this approaching Thanksgiving (and mine will be a solitary one, as I am really not fit for human consumption yet) .. I hope to keep seeing what is good in my life, and not look so much at what is not. I found this on youtube after I read the story on yahoo. This link brought the true meaning of selflessness home.. I warn you.. be prepared for this boy...he died this Friday past.
Dying Boy's Last Wish
I was fooling around with some of my photos tonite, if you would like to revisit some beauty of the summer:
This is what I enjoy
And a small one for gramps..
Cardboard men
A little chuckle for you. A car gets a flat on the interstate one day. The blonde driver eases it over onto the shoulder of the road, carefully steps out of the car and opens the trunk. She takes out two cardboard men, unfolds them and stands them at the rear of the vehicle facing oncoming traffic. The lifelike cardboard men are in trench coats exposing their nude bodies and private parts to approaching drivers. Not surprisingly, the traffic becomes snarled and backed up..
It isn't very long before a police car arrives. The officer, clearly enraged, approaches the blonde of the disabled vehicle yelling, 'What's going on here?'
'My car broke down, officer'! says the woman calmly.
; 'Well, what the hell are these obscene cardboard pictures do ing here by the road?' he asks.
'Hellloooooooooo!!!!' says the blonde. 'Those are my emergency flashers.'
