Darling…I'm in Iceland with Ludvig
I got my ferry ticket to get me over to France and I arrived last Friday; I had to buy the newspaper every day for a year to collect the tokens, but it was worth it. I got my ticket for £1 and it only cost me £212 in newspapers.
I was quite excited about it and a little scared at the same time. I’ve driven to most parts of Europe, but not Iceland and of course there was Ludvig. I’ve never known anyone as special as Ludvig before, he’s honest, polite, quiet and has the most amazing eyes and smile. I was very excited to meet him too because I had only seen his eyes and smile on separate photos.
The house was sold before I left and I brought my own bridal gown. I know it’s a long shot, but there’s something about Ludvig and I know he’s ‘The One’ for me. There’s no denying true love is there?
I’ve kept my profile here just in case it doesn’t work out.
It was a long journey and I met Ludvig at the Icelandic Phallological Museum. That’s one thing I forgot to put on Ludvig’s list of qualities, his love of museums. It shows great character in a person don’t you think?
The museum was closed unfortunately, but he has promised to take me back, it’s his favourite place and I want to learn everything there is to know about Ludvig.
Ludvig is so kind, he took me back to my hotel room and we sat in the bay window at the table. His eyes and smile were the same ones I had seen before so he is genuine thank goodness. He was carrying a large holdall, and out of it came a couple of bottles of Icelandic Moonshine and we sat and drank glass after glass after glass of what he calls ‘Landi.’
I woke up two days later in Ludvig’s place, and we were already married. I have to say, this is it, the longest I’ve ever stayed in a long distance relationship, a week!
In Iceland the wife doesn’t take the name of the husband when they are married. Names are inherited from the father or mother‘s first name or both. They add either sson/sonur at the end for son and dattir/dottir for daughter. Ludvig’s name is Hr. Ludvig Ludvigsson, so I’ve decided to take on a Nordic style name too following the tradition here.
Well that’s it for now Darling, so far so good. I’ll be in touch.
Fr. Misschief PollyEsthersdottir.
