Black Friday has turned violent after reports of shots fired at the Toys-R-Us on Highway 111 in Palm Desert.
Unconfirmed reports state that at least one people was shot and one person, a juvenile, has been held. There's also no word on if there were multiple gunmen.
According to scanner reports, the incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. at the store located at 72314 Highway 111.
Riverside County Sheriff's Department as well as officers from the Cathedral City and Indio police departments are on scene.
By 11:55 a.m., authorities were still searching for at least one gunman.
Deputies told News Channel 3 that some shoppers inside were evacuated while others were kept in the store shortly after shooting as deputies swept the store for suspects

watching this on the news now.,along with the trampling of the man in wal-mart.,a pregnant woman was also hospitalized from wal-mart thing.,long island new york.,people need to calm the heck down

I blame the buisness's for this chaos...they know what to expect and yet never provide enough security for the event they are throwing...what a f'n shame!
Just remember a few years ago when PS 3 came out...shootings everywhere, robberies everywhere..remember the units sold for over 6 hundred dollars...I love the holiday spirit!

This is exactly why I stay home on Black Friday! No material thing is worth taking the risk! My mom is one of those crazy Black Friday shoppers, and was standing in the cold weather at 430am to buy an LCD tv.
And I agree with Legacy. The stores know the chaos that erupts on this day, and yet, they don't up the security. This isn't the first time someone was hurt or killed on this shopping day, yet that Wal-Mart in Long Island sent only one man to open the doors??
Sad thing is, these incidents won't even be remember next year. These stores will still have great deals, that will have all the blood thirsty dollar-savers out trying to save that extra cent.
Sure is a shame....

a friend just told me that her daughter was at WalMart this morning, standing in line with her 10 week old son in her arms.. she had a tv in her shopping cart and a man pushed her down on the floor and stole her tv out of her shopping cart..her sons head bounced on the floor and a woman that was with the guy kicked her in the back while they were lying in the floor..
this chit sucks.. security didn't do a damn thing about it..

Uncle Festered T. Butts got arrested last year for shooting at Toys-R-Us...but then he was just shooting at all those stuffed ducks and teddy bears on the shelves....actually, he was just cornfused as he so often was known to get back in those days.
When questioned by local sheriff J. D. Snotswirthchit, he said he thought he was at the local amusement park shooting gallery...luckily only 23 ducks and 9 teddy bears were injured in the melee. When arrested and asked why he did it, he stated he was tired of all those over-rated stuffed animals always getting so much attention at Christmas time. 
He was placed back in the holding pen...pig pen that is . He just couldn't handle all that solitary time...may his hams rest in piece...a piece here, a piece there
