Please note: Some time back I posted a blog entitled “It’s a Shame…..” which is partially being reposted here:

It's a shame when people can't let sleeping dogs lie...
It's a shame when people continue to beat a dead horse...
It’s a shame when people keep a chip in their shoulder…
It’s a shame when people keep burning bridges…
It’s a shame when people can’t let bygones be bygones…
It’s a shame when people keep rubbing salt in old wounds…

It’s just a shame.

There are a gazillion more “idioms” in use, but each of these has special meaning with regards to numerous situations here in blogland.
Another time, I posted a blog entitled “Blogs….my 2cents worth” and I am reposting part of that blog here:
Yeah, well, since everyone is blogging about blogs & opinions & such, I have a couple of things on my mind that I thought I would attempt to share.
I agree with the ones who say if you don't like the content, subject, or whatever of a blog...move on...don't read it. Over the time that I have been reading the blogs, I've learned to identify certain people's blogs that I skip right over. There's no need in even opening them up. Granted, I may be missing some good "stuff" but such is life & it will just be my loss.
I may skip those blogs because I don't care for the subject matter the writer generally covers or perhaps I just don't care for the person's writing style. It's all about CHOICE! It's their choice to write what they write about & it's my choice to read it or not read it. Seems pretty darn simple to me.
Oh yeah...someone earlier blogged on RESPECT....& I must say, I couldn't agree more! zippy said:

Those who post blogs of a questionable nature will attract people who are likewise, If you want people to be sincere and take you seriously, post accordingly. If you like the attention and the comments of questionable nature - post the questionable blogs!
And further to that… don’t bitch because that is the type of attention you get! Oh yeah…& don’t complain because others don’t see eye to eye with your subject…remember, it’s alllllll about CHOICE!
Then there are the people who think everything is about THEM. They have to jump on every blog & make defensive comments. What's with THAT? Get a LIFE...get OVER it.....YOU are NOT the CENTER of everyone's universe. And even if it IS about you...most likely you are perpetuating the TRUTH by the manner in which you respond. LOL
ANYWAYS...so much for me & my rambling. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far...and thanks for your comments, too. Just so you know, comments on my blogs are set for my approval, so if you choose not to comment for that reason, it is your prerogative. I have never censored ANYTHING that anyone has ever commented on my blogs (few that I have written) & it is not my intention to ever do so. I just appreciate the built in safety factor that is allowed me by making the choice to approve or deny.
To these thoughts, I’d like to quote some classic idioms that I think can still be applied aptly here in blogland:
A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush

A Leopard Can't Change His Spots

A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Bite Off More Than You Can Chew

Can't Cut The Mustard

Chip on his Shoulder

Cry Wolf

Drastic Times Call For Drastic Measures

Flash In The Pan

Get Over It
I’ll stop my list with that one…..”Get over it.” People need to learn that every one of us has an opinion. And every one of us has the right to that opinion & as long as it is within MD guidelines, we can post those opinions here.

Bottom line….If you feel guilty about something & whine & cry out about it, then you’re just putting the spotlight more & more on yourself. Yeah, there was another blogger here who used to always write something about whatever dog hollers out when a rock is thrown across the fence is the one that got hit…or something like that.

These are simply my opinions….if you don’t like them, you have your right to your own. Oh, and BTW....my blogs are now open for any & all comments, but as I've stated before, anything totally nasty or uncalled for will be deleted.

edited to add: You can look up any of these idioms or others here, if you do not know the meanings.

Then there are the people who think everything is about THEM.

Why do I feel that this is directed toward me?

I admit, I have whined about the "Wait for approval" thing but someone shared their thoughts on it with me when I whined to them There are many reasons for it and as you and she state, it is your choice, and it is. With the one comment rule I found my self more frustrated, but I am over it now and will quit whining
Check out her thoughts:

PeterI see where you're coming from. Like I said - I blog to share my thoughts, not looking for commentaries. When I have something open for comments - I put it in the forums. There have been some nasty people in here who make nasty statements in blogs just for the hell of it. I'm not interested. Once in a while I'll get someone who doesn't understand where my thoughts are coming from and make what I consider an off the wall comment - I generally post it.

Some of that may be the difference between men & women though too. Women like to just vent or even if not vent, just talk outloud.... Random thoughts.... that simply do not require anything, but an ear.

Men like to "fix" things. My brother & I still go around about this from time to time. I make a simple comment - he wants to fix it. I don't feel my thoughts need "fixing".

He's gotten better about just hearing me out at times. Then there are times I'll say, "What do you think about ..... such & such......" Again.... I take that to the forums and it's open for all.

Too - I'm not here for a popularity contest. So if people read or not - matters not to me.
And later, after I wrote her something else, she added:

I see blogs more as a diary or journal entry we allow others to read. People don't ask for comments on their journals. A journal is simply more or less.... the story of YOU..... not someone else's thoughts about YOU

I was just responding to Wouldnt's comment & another very appropo idiom came to mind that I wish to share:

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
