A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.
This is the definition of a Blog. The key words being Personal thoughts.
I find it very interesting that people can post their personal thoughts here, and they just get torn up by other bloggers. We all have different opinions, thoughts, and ideas. And when the need strikes, we write them down. Sometimes its easier to type these on a public site such as MatchDoctor, rather than write them in a journal. But either way, they are your own opinions, thoughts, and ideas. There really is no need to bash others thoughts. I admit, I am also guilty of not agreeing with everything I read here, and I will post a comment stating my opinion. But I don't believe in trying to change that posters thoughts or beliefs.
Because of this, a lot of people have been run off of MD. And the majority of those people had great insights and thoughts. I might not have agreed with everything they wrote, but I respected that persons opinions. They were beautiful writers and I looked forward to seeing their blogs.
Hopefully someday they will come back to enlighten us with their writings again. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. But geesh people, let others write their thoughts down without making them feel stupid for doing it!

Good definition...
Comments are like opinions ....evybody has one. It is the presentation of the blogs and the comments that seem to get out of hand.
Many say there are topics that should not be included on a "dating site" but what great insite you can acquire about a person in the presentation of their comments.
I don't like to see people go either, but they move on, new faces, or writers come in. It seems to be very transitional here.
Folks just need to remember that difinition, not everyone is going to agree, and those that have no finesse in disagreeing just need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Good blog and thank you for posting the definition.
Sadly, so many use this as a new way of scamming the unsuspecting and the lonely, and as a forum to air their dirty laundry instead of seeking qualified psychiatric counseling.

Whatever someone posts gives you an insight into their personality.
Hopefully, nobody takes this online stuff too seriously - it should be reserved for occassional entertainment.
But like the others said, a lot of this is just sad...

I am also guilty of not agreeing with everything I read here...
You shouldn't have to agree with everything, therefore you are not guilty.
But you ARE talking about genuine blogs. yes?
A good part of the material posted in the blog section are not blogs...
They are cut & paste jokes, poems, recipes, shout-outs, bulletins, queries, polls, announcements, etc.

I agree with the majority of what you blogged here, but I also agree with chat's comment.
Having said that, I think anyone who posts anything in a public forum or blog space should have thick enough skin not to let someone else's opinion "get to them." As stated, it's all just personal thoughts, huh? And don't personal thoughts equate to opinions?
As I stated in a blog I posted last nite...we all have the right to express our opinions here within the guidelines that MD sets forth. If anyone gets upset by another person's opinion, well, the way I see it is that is their personal problem.
