Just A Piece Of String.
My dad gave me a piece of string, I’ve had it for more than twenty years now.
It’s worn, frayed, tatty, grubby and it has a few knots in it, so I don’t forget.
It’s come in handy over the years for this and that; I’ve used it for tying keys, hanging paintbrushes, temporarily fixing things and all sorts of other stuff. It’s travelled with me to different countries and almost always finds a use for itself. It’s been my worry beads from time to time and gained a few extra knots as a result.
But sometimes, it’s been in my pocket for no other reason, than just being there.
I’ve even loaned the string to a friend or two and they probably wonder why I am so eager to get it back, after all it’s only a piece of string: But that’s exactly what it is most of the time and always has been, just a piece of string.

I have something like that too.......although..  ...it's a japanese thing.......  I hold onto forever....but....I never loan it out......it stays with me at all times.....for only I know the reasons.....it's been all over the world with me.......nobody ever ......get's it...... but that is ok.......things are only meant .....to be what they are to be..........plain and simple.....

And yes its just a peice of string, like a photograph is just paper, but it means so much.
