Analysis of life in fairytale form...straight to the point! For all the princess' who're still waiting for that prince to come and rescue them...self-awareness and self-forgiveness will let them know that they truly are "queens" afterall... Life is more fantasy when it's real than we really want to admit.....
The following poem is by Bird on a Wire He wrote it in response to the poem Princess of Yore
With his permission it is reposted here We women must realize we are already "queens" in our own right.... *********************************************************** Fairy tales
Locked up in the tower No ladders or stairs The princess reflected And long grew her hair Self inflicted isolation She threw away the key Swore she wanted to be alone Never again to be free Many suitors came calling She spurned all who came Her heart had been broken But every man was to blame She had been deceived Not once but twice Never again she swore Would she be spurned thrice All men where vipers Their tongues forked and pointed Their speech was shallow Their promises disjointed She had waited for a king She had ended up with a knave She very nearly allowed Herself to be enslaved Then one morn Several years thereafter She woke up from the past To face the hereafter She heard laughter She heard joy She heard songs in the breeze She heard a lute and a harp That played melodies that teased Lightness and dance again filled the air This promise the princess to herself did swear No more time would be lost No more time would be spent On false hopes and false dawns Now she would repent She would ask for forgiveness From herself and move on With no more time to squander She would sing her own song She did not need wizards She did not need kings For she realised at last She was already a Queen Come all who would listen Come all to join in No more time to waste For that would be a sin
