A lot has happened the past week or so. I helped the authorities close down the puppy mill. I feel good about it but the whole process has been very emotionally draining. There was 39 dogs rescued. The worthless excuse for a human is out on bail at the moment. All of her animals were conviscated. Two of the dogs were in such bad condition they had to be put to sleep. Apparently there was more there then just the cages I saw. She had birds of all kinds, cats, and dogs. The investigator told me it was one of the largest seizures ever in that county.
My new puppy, Snoop, is doing so well. His skin has cleared up and he is putting on weight. He has grown quite a bit in the last 2 weeks. He still has not figured out how to jump up on things. He watches my other dog but doesn't get it. I have made him little stairways through out the house for him to get up on the couch with me and on my bed. He has been having a lot of nightmares. He starts out whining and then wakes fully and starts barking like crazy. It takes me a few minutes to calm him down. The vet says that might get better in time but some mill dogs never get over the trauma.
My Thanksgiving was not as great as I would have liked. A friend of mine was in a car accident and I spent a few days at the hospital with her. She was finally released this past Tuesday.
Everything else in life is just about the same. I have not gotten the Christmas spirit yet. I am just not into this year. Hopefully, I will bitten by the Christmas bug soon and enjoy the season.
Well, reality is calling. Need to get some work done. I hope to log back on shortly.

Congrats on the success of closing the puppy mill....I have been following your blogs. And your puppy, he's in good hands now, was from the start. Someone was watching over him waiting for you to find him. He is one lucky puppy.
Chin up....even if it doesn't feel like Christmas to you, each day that puppy awakens to see the love and smile from you, is like Christmas to him

I have a ton of respect for what you did and thank you also. Thanks to you, 37 dogs and any other animals there will no longer be suffering at the hands of some monster.
I am glad to hear Snoop is doing so well, and again, you did a wonderful thing, be very proud, I know I am.

She will probably just move and start over. Seems like these kind do. But at least you closed her down for awhile and someone will get some puppies hopefully and love and protect them the way you did your little puppy.

Congratulations to you Raven for helping close down that horrid place. Yes, it is emotionally draining but when that is over, you can feel great about what you did and the number of animals you were directly responsible for saving.
Be proud of what you did and enjoy that new puppy. I'm betting when all is said and done, your care will help him live a normal life, but a very safe and happy life.

I widh I could have taken more my now my total is nine cats. She ? goes to the the vet friday for a check up ( she cats like she has a cold, runny nose and eyes)
Bless you and I hope you get the Christmas Spirit soon.... I don;t have it yet either but mayne when I put up my 12 inch christmas tree I'll feel better

Good for you, Raven! Please keep us posted. The next thing that I want to hear is that she gets a big, stiff fine and some jail time.

Well....I saw some of this blog and went back to read all the other ones first. Bless you and yours for stepping up and taking action. It will come back to you. Karma is not always a bitch. There is good and bad karma.... what you do comes back to you is what Karma is.
So...what you did about the puppy mill and righting the wrongs and injustices there...will reward you... Just wait for it. You will be surprised! I am sending healing to the baby you have adopted. Hope it helps. You can also use Bach's Rescue Remedy on him. It is useable on dogs. It may help unstress him. Or her as the case may be. Great news about her being shut down!!!
