Have you ever made counter coffee? Well, this morning I did. I loaded 2 slightly-heaping little thing-a-ma-jigs of coffee (I drink a lot so I make it weak) into the filter and filled the maker with 12 cups of water. After my shower I discovered I had made 12 cups of coffee on the counter. I forgot to put the pot back in the maker. Idiot!

I now know that I am senile. There's no other explaination for it. I'm surprised it started as early as 56 years young, so I'll have to watch what I'm doing from now on.

Do I drive too slow? I've driven 150 miles per hour on the street and over 100 in the pouring rain on a racetrack and through the woods at night. All legal mind you. But that was 20 years ago.

Do I forget things? Yep. If I don't write it down, it ain't gonna happen. Most of my customers even remind me that I need to start selling blackboards as they can't remember stuff either.

Am I set in my ways? You betcha. That's why I'm still single isn't it?

Do I want to change? Yes. But at this stage I can't change, I can only adapt.

	yep.... I have made counter coffee... more than once Sometimes I have waited forever for coffee just to find out I never put water in it.. I usually drive the speed limit and folks still pass me.... unless I'm headed south and going through Indianapolis... then I drive 85 just to keep from getting run over (those folks are NUTS) I can walk from the living room to the kitchen and forget why I went there but I can remember stuff that happened when I was three years old..... 	Sometimes I check my pockets more than once looking for the item that was not there a few minutes before. I figure if I forgot where I put it, maybe I will not remember putting it back either. And oh I will leave a room and forgot what I was going after and go back into the room to see if I can somehow jiggle my memory to see what it was I was going after in the first place.

	I forgot to put the pot back in the maker. Don't feel alone. I've done this on several occasions. And.......when I got home from work this afternoon, I made a pot of coffee, drank several cups of it, and when I went out to the kitchen and poured myself yet another cup, I could not for the life of me find my Coffee Mate! (powdered creamer) I looked in the cupboards......all over the counters....even checked in the computer room, thinking I had brought it in there with me, for some dumb reason. I finally decided to give up on it and use milk instead. I opened the refrigerator and found my Coffee Mate! I only drive slowly at night because of the abundance of deer. I make up for lost time during the daylight hours. Do I forget things? Never! I don't know how the Coffee Mate got in the refrigerator. Am I set in my ways? Getting better at it. Do I want to change? 	Fortunately, since I'm just a young bachelor, I don't have to worry about counter coffee....I don't have a coffee maker. Or a counter. There *was* a counter....I presume it might still be under those dirty dishes, junk mail, old newspapers...somewhere. So, you might've lost your keys, or maybe your glasses (check the top of your head!)....but I lost a counter. Senile at 41....just call me an early bloomer.
