DEALING WITH ROACHES and other pests...holistically
As we know, anyone can have roaches. They r rampant in most gorceries and anywhere they can get a meal. They will hitch a ride home with u in the fold of a paper bag...hence...plastic for me always. They also hide in soda pop and other cartons. With this tip they are as easy to get rid of as they are to get...almost.
BORIC ACID is mined in the Majove Desert. It is then ground into powder or granules. We want the powder for insect extermination. It is said to be no more harmful than table salt. It has many more uses than just pest control, such as an eye wash for an infected eye. (one teaspoon powder to one quart of warm water). It comes packaged in a plastic bottle, much like a ketchup bottle but larger...maybe quart sized and cost just over $2.00 a bottle. Dollar General usually carries it.
Roaches like high places so if possible, sprinkle the powder on top of cabnits. If u dont want to sprinkle it, place in old jelly lids or paper plates. Place some around the sink and along the back counter of the kitchen. Roaches also love warm places andchoose these spots to nest. Frig motors, furnances (even in summer the piolet is usually lite.) Make sure to give the roaches full access around these spots. They love this stuff and will eat it readily. They will carry it to their nests and wipe out the whole coloney....in short order!!
For fleas, sprinkle some on your pets fur and all over your carpet. It will vacuum up easily. Leave it for three days then vacuum well. Put a cup of vinegar in your pets bath water each bath. Vinegar repels fleas. Mix Avon skin so soft with 5 parts of water and mist on your pets fur. Brus it in to make their fur gleam. This should be used for horses too, to keep flies and insects away from them. They will love you for it.
For all kinds of mold, including the toxic black mold, mix boric acid with hydrogen peroxide.
BORIC ACID is also used as a wood preserative, flame retartant, and silly putty. Yes I said silly putty. Its also used in lots of pharmaceuticals. Its one of natures miracles!

Sulphur powder works well outdoors for fleas. It is really cheap and it also repels snakes.

Cinnamon works for ants if you can figure out where they are coming in...
But it's not as much fun as watching my daughter's boyfriend chase a mouse through the house with one of the swords from my collection!!
Never fear... he hasn't gotten one yet and the swords aren't edged.

Roaches also love to live under your carpet. Lift the edges up just a bit and sprinkle the boric acid underneath.
I also used glue traps in my fight against roaches (I moved into a house that was infested when I got there...it took me less than a month to rid the house of them). I got some at a hardware store that contained no chemicals at all....just a thick paper covered in glue and a little piece of wood that had been soaked in cockroach pheromones. I put one of those out and I swear to you they literally came RUNNING into it!
If you find yourself in the middle of an infestation, get everything in your cupboards out of cardboard boxes and into Ziploc bags. Cereal, Pasta Roni, granola bars...whatever it is, get it out of the box! Cockroaches LOVE the glue that holds those things together. They eat it.
