I am passionate about music. My tastes are eclectic, but if I have to pick a genre, then I especially love old 40's and 50's jazz and spirituals (Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Mahalia Jackson, Brook Benson, Nat King Cole). I sing and direct choir.
I'm generally good for a debate on just about anything...politics, religion, absolute truth, theoretical quantum physics. I've been teaching high school science and math for the last several years, but I've just accepted an elementary teaching position in Georgia that I'm excited about. I'm also something of a writer, or maybe more of a word tinkerer.
My dreams are usually practical: I want my sons to go to college, I'd like to own my own house, I want to live long enough to see my future grandbabies grow up. But I have a couple of wilder dreams as well: I want to run an orphanage in Belize, I'd love to see Europe on a three-month unlimited railpass, I'd like to learn to scuba dive in the South Pacific, and I want to take an Alaskan cruise. |
