Things that I don't care to do, such as drink alcohol, can make me seem like a dull person to many. I have my own ways to be wild. I enjoy parties and quality time with friends. I can be silly and serious. I like to clime, to bike, to garden, and to dance. I'm a U of M graduate student finishing my final year in Biosystems
Engineering. I feel healing the environment is an issue of public health. I intend to contribute to better storm water management. I recycle religiously and eat enough fresh vegetables that people mistake me for vegetarian. I try to live in accordance with my evolving beliefs and values, and have great admiration for people whose lives radiate compassionate love for others without condescension. Gandhi is very cool.
Perhaps who we are can be defined by what we care deeply and passionately about, and why. I have strong Christian beliefs, but feel actions and thoughtful choices to be the most rewarding form of prayer. Religious piety is not my style.

I can imagine diverse forms of perfect dates. No planned activity competes with spontaneous conversations that explore and perhaps redefine who we are. An ideal date will truly enjoy the moment, and try new things. A sure sign is when both know they look like fools on the dance floor, yet have too much to be concerned. If we can laugh at ourselves, we share something.
Often the first date is not the best one. It is great when two people feel an imediate understanding. To begin with the strength to be open, vulnerable, and in tune with one another is bliss. Sometimes, a simple walk to share thoughts and learn about the others life is the perfect start to a friendship. This needn't be on the first date.

My perfect match needn't consider herself an environmentalist, but I am drawn toward women who visibly care about people at least. Often openly caring is more constructive than judging. At this point in my life I need someone to have fun with. I am serious about many things, and seriously need to cut loose sometimes. Dancing is better for me than simply going to a movie. I seek a partner who understands compromise, and asserts her views.
