| Bueller ... Bueller ... |
| about myself: |
Recovering husband looking to start over. Do I list all the usual stuff that people say at these sites or do we shoot straight. OK, OK, here goes, but I'm afraid I'll just start to amalgamate into one giant synthesis of the average guy on this site. Let's be honest, if you've read more than a few of these profiles, don't us guys start to sound the same? Anyway, I enjoy being outdoors when I can, but generally I'm a home-body, spending most of time working in the real estate business.
I know I'm supposed to list a bunch of activities I like to do for fun, but let me start with those activities I do not like: First, nascar, (can’t get into it), in fact I don't like watching any sports at all - it's just boring to me. If professional or college sports are a big part of your life, than we are probably not that compatible. Second, heavy drinkers or smokers - need I say more? Third, religious dogma, I truly do not mean to offend anyone here, but open-mindedness and tolerance are important to me. I'm probably agnostic at best, but spiritual in my quest for truth (whatever that is...). To me, the question is almost as important as the answer. I'm not a big fan of the concept of accepting ideas on faith. I've always liked the bumper sticker which reads: "Question Authority". I question everything, especially when it comes to religion. How can you seek answers if you are not allowed to ask the questions. It is belief in a basic morality, not in a specific doctrine, which makes the difference to me.
By the way, referring to my opening line "Bueller ... Bueller" ... if you don't know which movie that line refers to ... I think you probably slept through the 80s. |

| about my work: |
| I buy and sell real estate. A large majority of my day involves working with people who are in bankruptcy or facing foreclosure. I can't always fix the situation, but at least I give them a roadmap of what lies ahead and a sense of control over the future. One of my goals for 2008 is to focus more on commercial real estate and land development because it pays better, obviously. But, also because the transaction is more about the numbers and less about the emotional aspects like the color of the house or the view from the back porch. |

| my idea of a great date: |
Waking up in a tent is my idea of a great date (OK... just joking). Probably meeting at Starbucks or Caribou Coffee because it gives us the opportunity to learn about each other. I recently made the mistake of asking a date out to the movies; well, the movie was great and and so was my date; however a movie isn't a great place to start a conversation. So, it really doesn't matter where we go, as long as we have the opportunity to enjoy the conversation. Second date - Dinner. Third date - What about downhill skiing?

| the person I would like to meet: |
This is a great question that will require some thought on my part, so I'll defer some of this if we meet in person. For me, alot of this boils down to chemistry. Obviously, there has to be a spark or sense of engagement. It's just something you "feel" between two people.
Regarding values, I can make a list that most people would agree with, but first and foremost would be integrity or a sense of honor. Some people might call it the Golden Rule, but I think John Locke said it best; “I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.” I also like the modern version which says the same thing, "Actions speak louder than words." |
