Well, just as surprising to me, I'll start by telling you a few secrets about myself: I often do unusual, out-of-the-ordinary things. Yes, it's true! I'm perhaps a little different than most people you'll meet.
What could I possibly mean by that? I confess that I have very little interest in NFL football, in hunting animals with guns, in bulking up by pumping iron, & rarely watch commercial TV.
I do, though, admit to being enchanted by the French language for its beauty, & can understand some of what I hear & read. I can't, however, honestly say that I speak it well yet. I do speak some Italian, some Spanish, of course, English as my 1st language. Perhaps, if your 1st language is other than English, you'd be kind enough to help me become more fluent in yours. That could be wonderful!
Recently been spending some time doing things like outdoor landscaping & interior design projects. That's been interesting, fun, & lots of hard work -- all at the same time.
Over this past year, I've volunteered on the staff of a non-profit agency that does national relief work. Put in a lot of time designing, implementing & managing their Web site (in another life I used to make a living in computers). Also serving as a Media Consultant in those efforts.
Now, on to the other important stuff...
So, what am I looking for in a person? Oh, that's an easy one to answer (coughs as if grape stuck in throat). In a person, if I were to look for a person, why I'd be looking for umm... err... hmm... a nice woman! Yes, a kind woman! Beyond that, she would necessarily be umm... err... hmm... female of the human-type species! I'm feeling pretty certain, yes, very clear about that much.
See, that wasn't so hard. I guess that about covers the main things. I suppose everything else would then be negotiable. Don't worry, I'm pretty easy to negotiate with.

What might be fun for our first date? Well, sometimes it's great to dine out at interesting places--perhaps Italian food at Bucca de Beppo in Milwaukee, or Luna in Neenah (dress up or dress down, as appropriate), go to cafes (maybe I'll try the double espresso or Earl Grey tea), check out live music or other performance (perhaps shorts, blue jeans, or maybe formal, considering venue).
Beyond a first date, what could be a great time? Fly to Paris on a whim, have dinner as the sun sets on the terrace of a Montmartre bistro, and make up the rest of the night as we go along...
Sometimes, you should know, I also write poems for special people. Perhaps I’ll write one for you!

Oh, yes, right... a little more about what I'm looking for in a person...
You might have noticed by now that I don't have a long list of specific expectations for my special someone. I'll mention here that I'd honestly rather that you be who you are, and not who you think someone else might want or expect you to be. That, dear one, would be a most tragic and lamentable loss -- yes, a loss to all the world of the uniqueness and brilliance that are you! I could not and would not do such a thing to anyone, period.
Besides, I think that kind of treatment is considered a crime against humanity, isn't it? You wouldn't want me to be sent to The Hague for some kind of War Crimes Tribunal or something, would you?
My honest summary: It's the you of you that's so important to me.
