Hi there; I'm Paul. If you like, you can call me "PC" (which I hear a lot at work.
What's important about me? I love my job, but don't talk about it much because it's upsetting to watch people doze off in the middle of conversation. I'm happiest when I'm teaching and helping people, provided they like to laugh while learning; let me show you how to improve your passwords, f'rinstance. I'm a smartalec. I love sharing the things I enjoy. I'm reliable. I joke around a lot, but I DO listen. I prefer never to lie; people do it all the time without thinking.
When I'm by myself I enjoy reading, listening to music or radio drama, or watching movies (especially old ones.) My tastes are all over the map; I know more about art & literature than food, sports & clothes, but I'm forever learning. I enjoy a lot of British Movies/TV/Music, which seems to leave many of my friends at a loss.
Odd details: I've worked on the staff of two publishing companies. People always want me to help fix their computers. I think I'm a pessimist, but frinds describe me as an optimist. I enjoy performing in radio drama; if you listen to "The Golden Age of Radio" on WBAI during a live re-creation, that's me making the sounds of doors opening and doorbells ringing. Sure I'm a geek! Why not? It's fun!
What kind of woman am I looking for? One who can stand being around a man who often displays an unusual perspective and a sharp (but not malicious) wit. | I'm pretty flexible regarding what kinds of experience constitute a "great date." Basically, I'm excited about any series of events that give us something to talk about. Go to a museum, shop in a book store, attend a concert, even walk to the train station...as long as we observe something interesting to talk about along the way, it's going to be a time we'll treasure. Heck, one day I had to go to the Emergency Room and a friend of mine met me there; it turned out to be the most memorable date I had that year! Not to say it's an experience either of us would willingly repeat. |

I get along best with creative people, particularly with an inventive, positive attitude. The world's got more than its share of obstacles; I prefer to interact with people who feel that they can meet and overcome those challenges.
I've spent more time with writers and artists than musicians, though I'd welcome a chance to expand. Many of my acquaintances tell me that my personality is a spur to their creative processes. It's fun to feel like an inspiration (and no, you will not find paintings of me, undraped, in fine galleries...well, just the one...) and of course, my friends also inspire me to write and draw.
