I'm over 40 but life is far from "over." I believe there's another chapter and I'm ready for it. Fun-loving, happy, independent, anti-normal, and looking for friends (maybe more but who knows?). My life is quiet but not boring. I enjoy the outdoors but am not a jockette; I'm not a long distance hiker or mountain biker but enjoy camping, boating, fishing, or just sitting under the stars watching the skyscape. I own a cabin on rural property, off the grid, and am rather a "Mother Earth" type. I clean up well but I'm not a real "girly-girl"... I'm definitely not a Barbie doll and don't go in for make-up, don't moan over a broken nail or indulge in other wastes of time. You'll usually find me in jeans and flannels, with my hair a mess and paint smudges decorating my hands (sometimes my face too but usually I don't go out in public that way :-). I can use a hammer and shovel as well as kitchen tools. Someone told me recently that I'm "real low-maintenance" and he swore that is a good thing.
I'm easily amused - watching the birds and wildlife can keep me occupied for hours. I like all kinds of music but the car radio is usually tuned to NPR. I seldom watch TV, though I rent a good video now & then.
I work from home and am self-employed in a creative field. I've never been one to hang out in bars and I don't belong to any church or social clubs - I've just never been a joiner. Although not "normal" by middle-class American standards, I am sane and secure in all ways. I'd like to meet someone of similar qualities and interests who can handle a no-expectations friendship, someone to do social things with, to enjoy outdoor stuff as spring comes on, and, well... who knows what may bloom with the Buds of May. . .
