I'm a freelance writer, mother on one happily married young man and almost-mom to several others. My spiritual gift is encouraging others to reach their greatest potential. Lacking a family here in Vermont, I am extensively involved with my community, ushering at a local presenting theater, serving on Creative Economy committees, and in on the development and current boards of both a farm to table support/development group and a pro-business coalition.
I write two weekly columns for a community weekly and monthly articles for a business monthly. I also write public relations announcements and short news piece for the University of Vermont Extension. Recently, I've also returned to writing grants for local non-profits.
My jobs have been varied. I've worked in a museum but also cooked for a hunt camp in Colorado.
My special interests/activities include archaeology, paleontology, history, but I also love to dance -- music and motion delight me.

I'm a hard worker who loves variety. I usually get up about 5 and write, research and/oir correspond until about noon. I take a break for a couple of hours and then work again. I may interview people on the phone or in person; sometimes my work includes taking digital pictures.
My days are often long, with a meeting that runs
until 8 or 9 at night. It's hard to divide what I do for fun from what I do for work because the two are pretty seamless; I'll just tell you "it's what I do."

A great date can be anything where there is laughter and movement, including volunteering to pick up trash alongside the road, touring a historic site, or dancing at a local club. It can be coffee at a diner, a visit to a flea market, or an afternoon paddling along in a canoe. What makes time with another person memorable and worthy of more time together is the quality of conversation, not the amount of money spent or how much someone dresses up for it.

I'm looking for a companion with whom to share the next 20 or 25 years. I'd prefer to spend that time with someone who is politically and socially conservative, who is involved with the community where he lives and goes out of his way to help others.
