I mostly live by the Boy Scout oath (trustworthy, loyal ...). I am somewhat shy, but I have a good sense of humor and I tend to go with the flow. I am bright and communicate well (I used to be a college professor). I am interested in most topics. I am a good listener as well as holding my own in a conversation. I am also knowledgeable on many topics.
I am also interested in new activities. In fact, I am interested in learning most of the activities listed here (excluding hunting, jogging, and running). Many things I enjoy (like bicycling or gardening) I have not had a chance to do in years.
I am naturally curious. I will want to know (over time) everything about you that you want to share. I will want to learn about your hobbies (and maybe join you).
Like most software engineers, I tend to work too much, but I am cutting down on that bad habit. Maybe you would be an incentive to leave work earlier. I work 9-6 most days.
I have a strong, but frustrated artistic side. Right now, I like to paint and design on the computer. I am great at digital post-processing to make the picture meet the photographer's vision or correct lighting problems, blemishes, etc. My pictures on this site are not "touched up".
I don't play head games. I don't use people. I don't gossip. I don't like to argue (I prefer to find a compromise). I am extremely honest, but I am tactful (if you ask a question, you will get an honest answer, but I will avoid bringing up unimportant things that might hurt you.
I am separated from a bad 21 year marriage (my wife now lives 2000 miles away). Cate was ill most of our time together, and decided she did not want me when she finally recovered. Even if she changed her mind, I would never go back. I expect to be divorced early next year.
My worst habits are overeating and a fear of confrontation. I am seriously working on them. |
