| Honesty is an admission and never a justification! |
| about myself: |
I suppose I could write a sales pitch about my virtues- and that's all it would be. I'm not going to even make an attempt to self dissect my personality or stereotype me- others seem to believe they can do that for me!
I'm placing myself out in the open here. I appreciate others who also do that here. I admire people who choose to be direct and open, rather than seeking excuses or justifications as to why they refuse to be direct and open. I would believe that they have something to hide.
I don't look at life as a dance or a crapshoot. Luck has nothing to do with it. And it really amazes me that people my age view relationships as such. I've never considered myself to be a victim of life nor do I buy into the ideology of "shit happens" and "that's the way it is." We all have choices. I've made some bad ones. However that's the choice I made and I chose to learn from it rather than brandishing a sword. No one deserves that.
I have met some great people here, met some friends and that's always a great thing. That's how I chose to look at relationships. Many have it all backwards. I really have no desire to become involved with an adversary over that of someone who I can call a friend.
I've been on here for a year and I was pretty disappointed here- I felt I had just moved to a bar culture of cyberspace extroverts who are intoxicated on believing they can be whoever they want to be behind a computer monitor. Anyone can meet anybody in a bar (just ask John Edwards). And that's not for me. I'm a fairly active person and that;s what I had hoped to find. Newton's Law of Gravity applies even to relationships- couches and bar stools don't float on Earth and it doesn't require anything special out of anyone to hold them down,
I also have a MySpace. My name here is the same as my MySpace URL.
Cheers!- /v |

| about my work: |
| I've got quite a bit going on with me right now. I cut back my work so that I can pursue my Bachelors degree in IT Security (I have an associates in IT Networking and Broadcast Journalism, former United States Canoe Club Sinking Ships Sailor and USW journeyman). I enjoy my job as I set my own schedule, love being independent and love the responsibility- "as they say"- "a ship in the harbor is safe but that is not what a ship is designed for."- I've never been one to feel complacent in life and if I ever felt that my job was just a "paycheck"- then I need to find another career. I'm looking to find better opportunities and better myself as I move forward. Who says it is never to late to keep learning? |

| my idea of a great date: |
A dinner in a place that is quiet and not crowded is appealing- please keep in mind that I usually eat very lite meals as I am diabetic however I control it through eating correctly- absolutely no sugar AND NO MEDS, or even something as simple as coffee. Maybe we could just take a walk and browse shops or go to a park.
So basically what you are going to get is a guy that will take you out- or meet you somewhere and he's going to want to talk to you. I'm not going to reserve anything- make a major event out of anything- or create a fixed itinerary- If we decide that we want to do something else or change plans then we have the flexibility to do that. Keeps it pretty low pressure that way also.
The most important thing I seek out in meeting someone is communication- I have no interest in going out with someone who will not communicate- the whole date is pointless then. While I do enjoy dancing I wouldn't want a first meeting to be going to a movie or in a loud bar- It's not like we are going to be able to talk and get to know each other. |
| the person I would like to meet: |
I think my perfect date scenario sums up the most important thing I seek and that is communication. While I do seek compatibility I am not concerned too greatly about having things in common- I like meeting people who are their own individuals and can engage in an intelligent conversation regardless of whether i agree with them or not. A dangerous person is one who says "me too" and "I agree" to everything. I learn absolutely nothing about them.
I am a pretty active person and I prefer to meet others who also are active. My idea of sports is not sitting in front of a television. I also enjoy meeting intelligent open minded people who choose to be free thinkers.
I am also not concerned with someones past and I don't think it is fair to me when someone brings that to the table. I'm a pretty affectionate person and I want that in a relationship- and I have no phobia over affection in public ( I said "affection" people lol) as I'm a little tired of hearing the "long walks on the beach" kinda stuff- the story is a little worn out, dontcha think? Isn't anyone a little more creative about how they see romance anymore?
