I'm creative, intelligent, and just unusual enough to keep things interesting.

As far as my art goes, since it is a major part of my life: my current medium of choice is oil paint. In addition, I play traditional Irish music on the violin. I'm not really looking for another artist, just someone who has some appreciation of the arts and won't resent spending some time in galleries with me.
Aside from art and music, I enjoy movies, quiet evenings with a good book, and intelligent conversation. I'm a nerd so I love sci-fi and fantasy, such as Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, or Star Wars. For movies, I tend to have odd tastes. A few of my favorites are Amelie, Pan's Labyrinth, and the Bourne Identity.
The good: I'm musically and artistically inclined. I am honest - often to the point of bluntness - and expect the same in return. Although I'm no homemaker, I am generally competant at domestic tasks (cooking, cleaning, etc). I don't have delusions of making millions off of my artwork; I just want to be able to create and still make enough to survive.
The bad: I will lock myself in my studio and paint for hours on end if inspired. I will sing along to my music, terribly. I will ramble about 'the emotion of the tree' that I'm painting and refer to colors by describing the mixtures of paint, not comprehending that this is unintelligible to most people. I will always be a geek and a nerd. |
