I am a character to say the least. I am a confused music major deciding in my fourth year that I'd really like to pursue art, so I'm currently in the process of getting a second major. I'm about as right-brained as they come...artsy-fartsy, creative, illogical, irrational...as my stepfather says, "Kaitlin marches to the beat of her own clarinetist."
I'm a free spirit, fully convinced that if there is a God, he screwed up big time not making me in the 50's so I could have seen the 60s and 70s. I'm a nature-lover, a pacifist, and I love folk music. I can't listen to any radio station that doesn't play "oldies". Hell, I even play my guitar like the Beatles (hoisted up to bellybutton level :-P) I like a good cigar, red wine, and books about the apocalypse. I'm secretly a pretty nerdy girl...yes, I say "Frankenstein's monster" instead of just "Frankenstein" when referring to that big dumb brute with the green skin and the neck bolts (and yes, it bugs me that the monster was portrayed as such a bastardization of the character from the story), and I could play video games for hours.
I'm sure I'm boring you if you've even gotten this far, so I'll sum it up as best I can...like all people, I'm way too complex to explain myself in 1900 words, and in fact, probably too complex to understand myself well enough to explain myself at all.
PS, I love love LOVE my boyfriend, and would not give him up for the world, let alone for some silly internet fling, so please be aware, when I say I'm just looking for friends and online chat, I mean that. Thanks :-) |

When I'm on break for the summer I'm working as a teacher at a nature center. I get to teach about nature all day, and also get to work with the teaching aid animals we have on site, which includes everything from chinchillas to bald eagles.
At the moment I'm working at a child care center in a rather um...low income area. It's been a great experience thus far, being able to be a positive influence in my kids' lives. Unfortunately, being of low socio-economic status often means having sub-par teachers who are so burnt out they've forgotten how to be gentle and kind. It's amazingly heart warming to see the look on a child's face when they realize that you're not going to yell at them for accidentally hitting you in the head with a ball :-P |
