JW's do not believe in whole blood transfusions, unnecessary surgery, or in abortions. They do not participate in brain stem research, partial birth abortions or organ transplants. They do however, use cancer treatment, medical care and regular dental care. I was raised with a woman who was a JW, and still follow some of the simpler rules. They are very basic, and home life, is first to all families.
