My children are an integral part of my life. Two live in Florida and one lives in Alabama. My oldest has 3 children and one foster child and they live about 2 hours from me. My youngest just married in May and lives here in Lakeland. The middle one lives and works at a girls camp in Alabama. I have a 20-yr-old girl from Hong Kong living with me to go to college. She and I just returned from flying up to Alabama to visit my daughter. Their camp is in the mountains and we stayed in a rustic cabin. Every time I visit the mountains, I think that is where I should live! I often go to see my grandchildren for a weekend visit to catch up on hugs and kisses. The more I get to know my new daughter-in-law, the more I love her.
My kids are my best friends. They are all working and contributing positively to their communities. I feel so blessed. |

I teach second grade at a public school. I love second-graders. They still like and want to please their teacher, but they mostly know the basics of reading.They are fun and have not yet become cinical about school. What I don't like is the fact that I have to spend so much time doing paperwork. I have wonderful people to work with. They really care about our kids and work so hard at their jobs.
I would love to be able to retire from the classroom and just work as a paraprofessional or tutor, but I still like to eat three times a day! |
