I'm a gentleman with a great heart, keen intellect and nice voice and I'm told I'm not too hard on the eyes. I work hard and I'm trying to find someone that can come play with me. I want to share everything with a special woman, not just date and see once in a while.
I'm a former athlete who's playing days are over. Now, I enjoy watching and/or going to live sporting events (duh?), reading, writing, working out, going to concerts, movie night at home on the couch, playing poker with the guys, taking day photography trips of things around Central Texas, mountain biking, looking for great antiques for the house, and spending time with my family and friends.
I love just sitting with someone and having a great conversation about anything and everything.
I am very busy right now with many different work-related things, but I would love to meet someone who wants to get to know a good man... and we'll go from there. FYI - I don't plan on working like this much longer. It's too draining. It's also confusing going from one meeting to another so often my schedule gets all messed up.
I laugh all the time, I just need someone to share the laughter with who knows that being goofy is a release mechanism for me, as I have to refrain from being a character with my jobs and various boards and committees I represent. But I'm more like a big kid when I don't have to watch what I say or do. It's just that things are reversed from when I was a kid, I'm just serious most of the day and goofy less of the day. Same wonderful qualities... doesn't that just make you wanna send me a message?!

Talking about work is boring and I already covered it... suffice it to say I'm a very busy guy with more than enough to take care of myself. Just know that I work long hours when I am working and when I'm not, I like to get out and have fun. I love to go for day trips around Central Texas. Anyone want to join me?
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I've had my second surgery (September 18th) and I'm recovering well. I should be nearly as good as new, with some permanent restrictions, in a couple months (say by Christmas). So, now I'm working hard, working out and trying to get stronger. I just won't be able to have my motorcycle or sky dive or play sports again, but other than that, I'll be as right-as-rain without the pain.

| My idea of a great date, right now, is someone that likes to talk and laugh. No movies on the first date as that's not a place you can talk... Maybe taking my date on a picnic I've packed with some of her favorite foods and a nice bottle of wine. Or maybe just meet at a coffee house and sit under a fan on the deck; or maybe go to a baseball game and sit on the grass and talk and watch the kids and people enjoying themselves. IMPORTANT: Please note that what I describe here is only a wish list, an ideal. Do I expect to find that one perfect person who has all of these traits in perfect proportions where I'd put her on a pedestal and expect her wings to sprout at any moment, not likely. I expect to find a person, who on her best day can make me feel bulletproof and like I can do anything... and on her worst day... make me want to pull my hair out and wonder why I was ever born! Truthfully, I hate to argue, but if I could find someone to argue with that was passionate and expressive and cared enough about something to fight for... I'd be happier than you can imagine. I'm not looking for perfection as that is probably not fair or even human. However, I am looking for someone who is perfect for me and who's personality meshes well with mine and can accept all of MY imperfections because I always try to be the best man I can possibly be and understands that I am a sweet guy with a great heart who would do anything for those I love!
