| Days off are the BEST! Especially when the weather is great, and the road trip can be taken with the windows down, even though there may be no real "destination" to the drive, or schedule to follow, or appointment to be made on time...Just being in the company of friends and family, or special friends can turn a fairly ho hum day into an adventure....Turning off the cell phone can mean more than words can ever say when you are on a "date" with someone...Simple pleasures in life hold more weight than material items....In the end, will it matter that I was here???? It's hard telling, not knowing, so I'll try to live like it does mean something...I like movies, and dinners out sometimes, but bbq's at home are good too, especially if I can convince someone else to be in charge of the grill...I am ALWAYS the designated driver because I care soooooo much for my friends that I want to make sure they get home safely...(AND I have a real allergy to alcohol....) I'd rather sit on the tailgate of my truck in the middle of nowhere and eat a bologna sandwich than sit in a straight backed chair in a fancy restaurant and make small talk and order a entree that I'm not really quite sure of the pronunciation...I'd rather be paired with a big guy, who demands respect just by entering the room, who is comfortable in his own skin, confident in who he is, respectful to others, at the same time jovial and trusting, hard as nails in public, but shows his soft side in private, than be on the arm of the one every other woman wants.....been there, done that, and it isn't all it's cracked up to be if you want my opinion..which, by the way, I am inclined to give freely, sometimes even when it isn't asked for...I consider myself average, although I am not wider than I am tall, I carry some weight. It doesn't keep me from being active and doing the things I love to do. |
