Chat room/gateway timeout.

Every time I click on the chat room tab I get a gateway timeout error. I've deleted my cookies and files, but I still get the error and I've never once been able to click on that tab. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

Wow I can't even get MD to reply. Sent in a help ticket, no response. Posted this, no response.
Is this just a lost cause and I'm screwed?  Is there no fixing the gateway timeout error, ever??

I've never been able to get into chat either...I just figured someone up above must be lookin' out for me.  
Hmmm, I wonder if it has to do with a firewall or something? (I did all those same things: cookie dump, reboot, re-login etc etc, too)

I have never had a problem in getting in to chat.
I use both IE and Firefox
I agree with SunBabe, it's probably your pc settings
or firewall

I had that thought, too, SunBabe - maybe it's better for me to stay away
I might suspect the firewall if it didn't happen so randomly. There are certain profiles, emails, forum threads and blogs I can't ever open, but I can open all the rest so there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason...very odd.

Are you on cable or DSL? I know that some threads and blogs timeout for those on dial-up...because of the huge graphics a lot of people insist upon using.
I'm on cable, though...and can't break into the ~shudder~ chatroom, but don't have a problem with seeing anything else on the site.
I wonder about "internet security settings"...someone with AOL mentioned a problem with that a long time ago.

I have DSL and I haven't had any problems opening the threads with the graphics.
Humm, now AOL just might be the problem...I'll do some snooping there... good suggestion
Yes, Misschoos, I can get to that link just fine, no problems. Sounds like the other person may have the same problem I do.
It must just be a random error that never gets fixed. There's email in my inbox I've never been able to open, even a month or more later, yet I can open other emails from the same people

I get connected to chat, and I can see that peeps are saying hi to me, but, I can't seem to find the place where I type in replies.. at the bottom of the page, I just see ads..have I got a block somewhere?
