heres a toughy for ya.
when I was trying to "fix" my screen when the format changed here.. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing.. and I have royally screwed up the way my screen looks..
it looks like my tool bars at the top are taking up too much room.. my page is very short.. and at the side of my screen, I have a a black empty space about an inch and a half wide where there used to be something there.. kind of like a border that is only on the right side.. my page needs to be "stretched".. for lack of a better word.. it's just too small .. where do I go to fix it.. and what should my settings be normally.. I have tried everything I can think of
also, now... when I log on.. all the little stuff that pops up in the gray boxes.. like my yahoo messenger guy, are way too big.. even the gray box where it says I am connecting to the internet is huge now..
I hope you can help me fix this or I am chucking this monster out the window..
and try to make it as simple as you can.. I am a IDIOT!

Lol, chuck that dumb monitor! It was only supposed to be a stop-gap until a decent one came along
(Can you reset the resolution back to 1024x768?  Try going to your browser's "view/text size" and resizing it either to large or medium or small...experiment. To me, it sounds like you have a conflict with browser text size and computer/screen text sizes...or something -- but that doesn't get the black thingy gone, does it?  As I recall, you can move the visible window to the left and right and up and down to center it. Then you need to re-adjust the monitor's resolution to fit the screen again -- there may be a difference between what the buttons on the monitor do versus the "display" tab in your control panel, as I recall -- and I know that you need to reboot to make any changes stick. A royal pain!  )
Good luck, DaisyDoodle...I hope someone else knows an easy way to fix it (and will you join me in trying to beg or bribe MatchDoctor to get us back to the old, original width size?  I can't read the text on this site when I change the resolution...it's too tiny for my half-blind eyes  )
