Ok so you guys created this "new look" and fixed something that was not even broken and THEN you created a forum for people to give feedback. At no time did you respond to any of said feedback and NOW i cant even find this forum.
Seems to me like you have been inundated with negative feedback and i can see NO reason what so ever why you havent already fixed the things you broke.
Im thinking you were expecting lots of positive feedback and were totally unprepared for what you got instead. Something in the back of my mind tells me your sweeping this issue under the rug, burying your head in the sand and are hoping it will just "up and go away".
Ive been here at MD for a LONG time. In that time i have not met a single person and 99% of the messages i get are from scammers. Yes, your a commercial entity and derive income from advertisements and from paying subscribers. But what you have done with your latest modifications to this site is alienate us non paying customers and a few paying ones too.
PLEASE fix your site so i dont have to keep selecting my search options EVERY TIME I DO A SEARCH.
Please fix your site so i dont have to KEPP DRAGGING THE HORIZONTAL SCROLL BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that loud enough? can you hear us yet?

it has nothing to do with screen reswolution, it has to do with PAGE FORMAT. i have plenty of resolution and absolutely NO INTENTION OF EVER changing the preferred size of my browser just to fit MD's page. i do not want my web browser takeing up 99% of my available real estate just so i can properly view a page that should be fitting ITSELF to MY preferences.
MD needs to change THEIR page, not i need to change my preferences!
Also, how does changing my "resolution" fix the cookies that are no longer working.
!
Thanks for the help though, you have done WAY better than MD because you actually took the time to respond!

You posted on Friday night. The tech staff does not work weekends.
I know a lot of people have this problem. I was lucky. It didn't affect my screen at all.

I have to agree with you..... I don't want to change all my preferred settings just to be able to access MD in a usable manner..... Up until this point, all of MD's upgrades have been great..... but this one just kind of ruins everything. Sorry MD.....

I tried changing mine and although I could view MD just fine the buttons were too large and they covered up part of the checklist stuff.
Also, while the change didn't have a detrimental effect on all the sites I visit, there are a number of other sites that suffered in that the printing was way too small on those sites, also there were a couple of sites where the printing was jumbled up together as if one paragraph was printed on top of another. I don't know how to explain it other than that. I had not ever seen any of those things happen before I made the resolution change.
I tried to make other changes in size to accomodate the "resolution" change but nothing really helped. I don't remember all the changes I made, but have since tried to change everything back because I just didn't like the results when viewing certain other sites.
I agree with mark4 in that I had plenty of resolution before and I only made the changes to accomodate this site. I am not really sure if I got everything back the same as it used to be though and wish I had never tried to make the change.

Try using the Opera web browser. It has a "fit page to window width" feature that helps with sites like this one.
I can't believe that they brought back Winks!
Just say no to Winks!

there was a feedback forum about this change it was up for days. it was INUNDATED with negative feedback. they had PLENTY of time to both RESPOND to the feedback and FIX their breakages.
I opened up this thread simply to give people here a way to continue the negative feedback in the hope that MD suddenly gains a clue and fixes things for real next time. as far as i can tell they quietly removed the other thread and i dont want it removed, i want people here to be able to let MD know exactly how they feel about these VERY stupid changes.
Whoever made the decision to implement things this way should be fired. PERIOD

Mark,
The tone of your post is not likely to achieve the results you desire.
Try to be more civil and diplomatic.
Otherwise, bait a hook and go fish.
OPERA IS NOT SPYWARE.

erm i did a little more research on opera, there was some talk some time ago about them converting from using Cydor ADware engine to some form of spyware. there were reports from "Experts" that said opera was doing some very fishy things. I think all of these have subsequently been debunked.
apologies to opera for continuing the lies about them
that being said however, im a former subscriber to opera but abandoned them for mozilla because mozilla has the adblock extension. at the time opera didnt.

noted. Im just VERY VERY frustrated at the lack of response from MD.
every time i log in i get a message telling me that MD tried to mail me and it bounced. Ive checked my spam blocks and MD is not in the list. ive sent messages to "tech spport" on NUMEROUS occasions and have received ZERO RESPONSE.
Ive never, in all the years ive been here gotten anything other than a canned email message from MD or notification that someone had messaged me. This and one other MAJOR gripe about md has been the reason i have never upgraded my account. If MD wants my money they can do two things.
1: give me support 2: do more to get rid of the scamers (erm, im still thinking on HOW they can do this though).

mark4, matchdoctor's "feedback" blog is still there, plain as day. feel free to add your comments at any time:
http://www.matchdoctor.com/blog_57437/New_Site_Design.html
a great many of the "issues" and accidental omissions have been addressed and implemented already. matchdoctor and the techs have chosen to read all the comments and spend their time evaluating, re-programming and testing, rather than to answer the 300 comments and hundreds of emails personally.
some things will stand as they are. other things have or will be "adjusted" in time, when or if possible.
Whoever made the decision to implement things this way should be fired. PERIOD that might be a little complicated and result in shutting down the site completely. considering that it was the owners themselves who were the ones who made the decisions and implemented them, i doubt a lot of members would appreciate having them fired.
btw, nice profile. good luck in whatever it is that you seek.

Mark- It was a pain, but the mods and Pete tried very hard to help everyone make the transition. EVERY site we go to makes changes. We, the consumers adapt, give input...It's always been readily accepted here! (and "I" am worth a damn-I'm just picky)

putting the banners on the left only makes the scrolling issue worse... now the center of the page is so far to the right, that I only see half the page...
forcing me to look at the ads, witch I suppose is the whole point...
of course, if the page simply "must" be to big to fit in my browser window, I'd love all the krap I don't want or need to read to be on the far right, or at the bottom... I understand that this is totally unrealistic as I really should be reading the ads, because there very important...
the least annoying place for them to be, and still be visible is at the top...
I know I should be running my monitor at whatever resolution you think is best for me... and if you think I should be running my browser full paged instead of windowed (as I prefer) then I'm sure that is what's best for me also... I wish you could make more of My decisions for me, as I am getting tired of it...
I already know if I don't like it I am welcome to go someplace else... as I am more trouble than I'm worth...
and I'm sure nobody really cares how annoying it makes this experience for me... (now somebody pleas tell me I'm wrong, and the problem is being fixed)

ive never seen an advert on tv or heard one on the radio or seen one on a web page that made me go "oooh, ill get that!". in fact, MOST adverts make me never want to purchase the product being advertised. placing the adds on the left is just wrong. i understand the reasoning behind it but its just WRONG!!!.
yes im grumpy, yes i need to work on my attitude a little but as the site NOW stands with the brokenness and spammers and scammers its bordering on intolerable.
this is the ONLY site that offers these services for free and NO site can be absolutely perfect or please all users all of the time but this in your face commercialism would tend to drive people away more than it would generate income for the owners me-thunks.
