Posts: 8,391 I honestly think damn near everyone on the internet falls into the category of "scammer" at one point or another (to some degree of course).

So arent we all being a bit self-righteous by pointing the finger at those who choose the be the best they can be?

Posts: 140 I'm new on here but I am amazed at how many emails I get from some really strange English language majors. I'm certainly not the English major but I am interested in someone who can put at least a few good sentences together in a couple of paragraphs. Perhaps I'm too picky. I came on here to see who's out there I figure this site is my barrier protection. I figure they can email me here - I'm sure I can get to know them well enough to determine if I want them to have my email. I get a red flag when the last thing they request (after the lines of how lovely I am and how they have waited all thier life for little ole me) at the tail end of the note is........... my email.

I'm not a genius but if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, looks like an eagle - well it's still a stupid duck.

Posts: 2 Great question and I've noticed the same thing. I feel that may be these were actually people who may have added the scammers as a friend with out contacting them first or may have just added them as a friend instead of contacting them. The bottom line is the red flags and the immediate use of yahoo as a method of future contacts, inappropriate use of grammar and broken English.

I'm beginning to feel discouraged about this and I wish MD would screen their profiles better.

MD clearly states that they do not screen theirprofiles and that anyone you contact is at your own risk.
