It would help to cut down on all the creapy perverted people harrasing others. No photo, no discussion. end of story. NO photos of animals or silly stuff either. Actual photos of themselves.

those of us who have a photo of something other than ourself show as the default also have photo's of ourself posted. Also don't think the lack of a photo should have anything to do with the ability to post in the forums or on the blogs. JMHO.

I understand the reasoning behind the idea  but, anyone could grab any pic and post it to meet requirements, if they went that way sweetie.

Photo posting rules on another dating website:
The primary photo must be 'you' the other photos can be group shots, pets, sunrises... whatever as long as it's not copyrighted, or obscene.

Gold members also have the option of storing 15 or 20 'private' photos that they can share at will with just a click in an email. ('private' doesn't mean 'nude', btw.  a lot of people don't like their mug shown all over the net, mods and staff included  )
at least our 'no photo' avatars go along with our theme and aren't ugly toons, like some sites have (not naming names, lol) we at least tried to make it easy to differentiate between boys and girls (without getting into anatomical differences)

I have a photo of my ' human' side on my profile......but....
I'm thinking the OP might have a bit of a point.....re the forums.
I'm on another site which is no where as good as MD re the forums and they
only allow 'real'??? photos
They also are 'restrictive' and the Mods are 'cranky' (er) etc etc etc.....sooooo.....
We all should 'play nice' on the forums whether we look like a sock puppet
or a Horse....or...a big bad wolf ...or an 'old bag'

Won't work. As someone else pointed out, how could you know if the photo is real? My pic could be me, or it could be some hollywood hunk, how could you tell unless you know me?

. . .I am working on the "old" part of the bag thing, just to demonstrate that I am not so completely decrepit as to be unable to accept change in my rapidly shrinking, nearly extinct and pitiful existence.
