"carp" here is my definition of hijacking a thread.

When someone purposely transforms the OP topic into an off topic mode in continuance posts to intentionally steal the thread and thus shows disrespect and causes unworthy off topic disruptions. This can snowball with followers that shirt-tale the hijacker.

Yes, but those are in good fun. Nobody gets upset.

Look in the political or religious threads, those are the ones that get "violent".

That's why I refrain from going into politics and religious threads.
Easy enough to step into the line of fire without going there.

Carp-
Some threads are designed to be fun, witty, devil-may-care. So hijacking doesn't really occur. Others, where the OP doesn't mind it going off topic, no biggie.
But ones really wanting a discussion are "hijacked" when the subject goes way off course, or members just start speaking to each other rather than addressing the subject.

well fine... start throwing in the "fun" word to make it all seem better and legit. I think not, its still off topic no matter how you look at it.

now I do hope you all realize I'm joking?

I disagree........Hijacking a thread is where another poster changes the topic chatting is where two posters talk about "it..."

BTW...you are not a queen....but a princess...

Ok so if a hijacker takes you to a nice warm fun place it's ok
But if a hijacker runs around the plane smoking and cursing
and being verbally violent ,,,then it's NOT ok
