I know it is Christmas and all...

And I do appreciate the sentiment. However, was it really necessary for someone to post the same post in twenty or more threads, across a half-dozen forums?

Edit: I stand corrected. It's posted to more than a dozen forums, in anywhere from one to five of the most recently-commented threads in each forum. So it must have been posted at least thirty times.

I guess this person has what is called, " The Christmas Spirit!" Maybe more people should have it huh?

( I think the Mods have better things to do or worry about than something like this don't you think?)

Nah, he isn't causing any trouble. I just think it's a little hinky, that's all.

I wonder what he will do for April Fools' Day?

I migrated to these forums after my half-decade-long membership at a forum expired. After being passed through multiple hands, the original owner decided to retire the site and the name. The community, already fragmented by several temporary shut-downs, completely fragmented among a half-dozen other forums.

So yeah, I've only really been on these forums for about three months or so, I think...

Is it as bad as all that?

Well if you saw it maybe you visited the site. Just wanted to make sure everyone here, many who only visit certain threads and forums, knew that I was wishing them a Merry Christmas. Just for the record there is nothing against what I did inthe MD rules.

Find it interesting that someone had nothing better to do than start this thread by the way.

I'm the sole caregiver for a blind, deaf, fall-prone elderly man. My entire social life is rapidly shrinking. I have nothing better to do than to visit websites. I can't do anything better, as I'm needed practically every ten minutes. I don't even get to watch DVDs or read books, really, since I'm called to solve "emergencies" on an almost constant basis.

I've been doing this for fourteen years so far, first for my mom, and now for my dad. I'm stuck in a small town, as my siblings went out to have lives, make lots of friends, get great jobs, and go to all sorts of exotic locations for vacations. My 20s and my 30s are pretty much shot, and it looks like most of my 40s will be spent doing the same thing...

So why are you posting on a Christmas day? Hopefully, your life doesn't suck as much as mine...

gray - I am a Jew - I think it is great that you did this dirty deed!

If more people had the love of their Lord in their heart the world would be a better place. I spent the morning volunteering in a local hospital. Jews in my area do things like this so that Christians can have Christmas off!

It seems some Atheists have nothing better to do than sit on a dating website whining about Christmas!

Their loss!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

All Blessings to you and YOURS!

If the MODS kick you out for this horrible infraction -

I will pitch in for your defense fund!

I am the primary caregiver for my 90 year old Mother and find my contact with others mostly here on the internet since I retired and came home to watch over her. Nuff said.

I work 40 hours a week. I get last-minute emergency doctors visits that screw up my schedule. In the last month (i.e. 22 work days), I've had to take off one day for holidays and four for doctors visits.

I set up everything I can for my dad, laying out a supply of prepared food, setting up his pills, buying whatever groceries he needs. The trouble is, he's blind and diabetic. He can't see what he's doing, and he has lost/is losing sensation in his hands. The prepared food? I have to take it out and cut it up for him. His pills? I have to call him twice a day from work to remind him. And even when I do remind him, he often says "I'll wait until you get home." Which means, since they have to be taken at a specified time, I can pretty much forget going shopping.

You're retired and taking care of your elderly mom? Great for you, I applaud you. However, have you spent your entire adult life doing so? Did you manage to date? Succeed in a career? Go on vacations longer than an extended weekend?

Your turn.

Picture yourself sitting on a sailboat in the Caribbean following a "5 year plan" and divorce after 32 years dedicated to wife- and mother-hood, finally free to pursue a dream for a few precious years before progressive health problems got too bad... putting a down payment on an apartment building (for a generous income), starting to cultivate new roots -- and getting "the call": "I need you here..." In Fallon, yuck Nevada ~gulp~ and having to purchase a ratty little house, for cash, with all the 'investment money' because of lack of income for a mortgage and rent was too expensive -- then finding out "I need you here" was more like "I want you here"...

Barefoot.
In the snow.
Uphill.
Both ways!

...but then most of it was worth it. It made Daddy's life (which lasted 5 more years) a little better (and hopefully took some of the pressure off my li'l sister). And heck, I got to spend 5 extra years here with my MatchDoctor friends!! And a year together with my true love soulmate who I'd met right here, originally. Except he died.

hehe, let's have a party! I'll supply the cheese to go with our whine.

Sorry, I just couldn't picture myself being a wife or a mother.

Thank you. It takes a real man, secure in his masculinity, to wear pink. And walk around in feather boas. And high heels. And panty hose.

Thankfully, I don't have that much security in my masculinity...

no pitty party for me Napa, I do what I do from choice and had I been needed earlier I would have gladly been here. Enjoy the time while you can because yo can never go back and change a thing.

IAM, thanks for your comments and hope that you have a very enjoyable day and what you and your friends are doing is a really wonderful thing.

Pay no attention to iam. He changes his positions more often than a tantric. If he can deliver scorn on someone by claiming the sun is made of cheese, he'd pull information off a hundred biased blogs to back it up, and call you an anti-Semite if you disagree with him.

The only reason he's in this thread is because I'm here. He has never forgiven me for calling him out for his unwarranted attacks on someone for daring to point out how far-right his positions were. I'd say (completely amateur diagnosis) that he's developed some paranoid fantasy that I'm in some sort of mass conspiracy against him. The amount of reaching he does to justify this belief is even more so than what you see in UFO or JFK conspiracy nuts.

Have you ever contradicted him? He's insanely vindictive if you don't eventually kowtow to his opinions. He has a hatred for moderates and liberals. And he's the person most often suspended for posting, presumably for his personal attacks.

There's a reason he posts primarily to blogs: he doesn't have to hear dissenting opinions.

Shoot, just do a search for the number of people he's accused of being anti-Semites. It's reached something like a dozen posters, last time I read the list. And growing...
