I think MD uses the same criteria for either category. Since all photos must have prior approval, can we PLEASE have the ability to MOVE PHOTOS back and forth between categories?

Maybe the Forum Moderator can pass this request to the techs...
If you have a photo in the private folder and you want to move it to the main folder, you must upload it again... AND WAIT FOR APPROVAL.
Can we have them add to the menu and give the option to move photos to and from folders?

Sometimes private photos do not meet the criteria as public photos such as pictures of our children. I have a pic of my son in my private photos that was not approved as a public photo since it is a pic of my son alone.

Did you actually see that in the instructions for uploading photos?
The link I clicked on has the same conditions as the regular photos.
I understand your reasoning for privacy. If they approve a child's photo knowing it's to be placed only in the folder for private photos... the approval criteria would then be different from standard photos. Right?

Photo Galleries are the visual artists "blogs". It would be great if the site would add a very simple javascript using a site wide css redefine of the html img tag to disallow right clicking... then the artists and visual creatives might be very inclined to join this online community. just a thought on how to enhance the site and make it better.

There are ways to get around disabled right clicking, if you know what you're doing

absolutely true, I know that
... but it curtails the majority and it makes the "plagerism" more blatant... it is the nature of the digital world, sound, words, videos, imagery in my mind are meant to be shared and honored. This is a way to honor that and encourage the visual sharing.

I haven't heard any response (here) from MD staff. Hopefully, my idea was understood.
All photos private or profile must be approved by MD staff. Each photo has a unique number/name automatically assigned by MD.
Let's say, you link some photos to friends profiles and you decide to move it to your private folder or vice versa. You must upload the same photo again (giving it a new number/name) and delete the first one. The means, all the links you used for the first photo are broken.
If MD could add a small change to allow us move photos back and forth between folders, it's less work for them to re-approve the same photos over again and they have the same number/name so all the links are still working.

Oh, MD, PLEASE do not disable rt click. I use it all the time for tabbed browsing. My computer crashes all the time if I do not have everything in tabs. You can't tab without rt click. Ceecee, you do not know what you would do to some of us if you took away our rt click. Why would they want to post their private works here unless they are trying to advertise anyway. This is NOT a site to promote your work. I agree that it would be nice to drag and drop pictures but if they disallow some that they only allow in private, I can see why they wouldn't allow us to transfer them.

How about if 'right click' was only disabled for profile photos ? not the ones posted on forums & blogs.

Blocking copyrighted photos deserves a thread of itself. Doesn't one already exist?
My thoughts are: Place your photos on another website that already had 'right click' blocked. Let them deal with the privacy and copyright issues. Put the link in a blog (or forum thread) By doing that, you keep MD from having to decide about blocking or nor blocking copyrighted photos.
Back to my original question... that hasn't been addressed here by any MD staff.
Can you give us the ability to move (already) approved photos from the private photo folder to the profile photo folder (and vice versa)... without having to delete any already approved photos and submitting them again simply to have them in a different folder.

( ) Yes, we're planning to make this change in our next round of updates. ( ) It's on our list of future ideas. Thanks. ( ) Not a chance in Hell we're gonna do anything about it.
