What's the best way to report an abusive email?

Do we use the 'report abuse' button and then paste the body of the mail into the box, or does the mail get automatically sent with the complaint?

Or do we just use the 'spam' button? Does the spam button send a copy of the
abusive mail directly?

don't bother; they never do anything about it except tell you to "delete and block".

Seems to me, there is already a solution in place: block them from sending you emails. As you read the email, the button's sitting there waiting patiently to be used. It has the solution of permanence, even. Once blocked, they can't email you ever again.

What purpose would be served by requiring MD to add additional staff to handle the myriad of snotty emails that doubtlessly get tossed back and forth, aside from requiring even more advertising revenue to pay for it? They've automated the system as well as could be expected.

It's good enough. In the real world, from time to time, your feelings are going to get hurt. MD has provided the tools to prevent the same person from hurting your feelings twice. That's as far as they have to, or should have to, deal with the issue.

MD has a right to make a profit, and there's no profit in hiring dozens of moderators to suss out the ultimate cause of a snit between various members of the community. They've provided the tools, put the "block" button prominently on the screen, and expect the members to act as reasonable adults.
