I know blogs are supposed to be stand alone.......
I always try to keep mine within that parameter........
but where is the line, on comments, where it changes from stand alone to interactive chat?
should we avoid all interaction by way of comments on ones own blog, or is a few responses from the OP, acceptable?
..........not trying to start a debate here, this is a blogger , still learning ...........

JMO....I feel any comments should be directly related to the blog. "Nice blog", "I agree", etc.
Blogs become forums when commenters start telling their on stories, disagreeing with the blog and stating why (should be done in email if at all), commenters start chatting among themselves, and so on.
That's why I'm all for the one comment per blog rule. Some very nice blogs get lost in the chatter.

I agree Mom,
but sometimes it is fun, to put a response to a comment in, here and there.
sometimes a comment sparks a thought and such, or in my case, a smart ass reply to it !
is it better, to just leave it as is?

And I agree with you Doggie. And I don't think that's a problem when it happens every once in a while. But some blogs are posted just for discussion when they should belong in the forums.
And don't get me started on the jokes.

Not trying to cause distention here....but blog land sucks.
It's next to freaking impossible to find the good blogs. And they now want me to spend time wading through pages of crap (my opinion here....nobody freak out) to read a couple of blogs that trip my trigger.
This is basically asking me to have foreplay with each and every blogger every Damn day. And I think that is asking a bit much.
Blogs are like drive-by sex. It should be easily obtained, fully satisfying and leave me wanting more.
And now I'm off to write my blog for tomarrow. 
And one more thing...this is the equivelant of hiding the condoms 5 minutes before sex. (That was for the mod man) If you want me to keep putting out baby...don't make this so fvcking hard.) Pun intended.

I enjoy skimming & finding blogs that I enjoy reading.
Of course, like anyone else I have my favorites.
But, CiW....you could easily put the writers you most enjoy on your favorties list here & then you'd be able to see at a glance when they've posted.  Just a suggestion.

Sigh.....I see how that could work.
But yet again, this is like leaving the Mod God a list of things I want him to do to turn me on. This would take away a great deal of the suspense and enjoyment for me. I want to open that screen and be surprised!!!!
