Do members have to message you in order to block them? Is there another way to block that I don't know about?

not sure if this is what you are needing ....

from the help tab
D. What are Blocked users?

These are users that you do not wish to have contact with. Their messages will be sent to your "Filtered" mailbox on the site rather than your inbox.
To block a user and not receive any new mail alerts from them, click the block button at the bottom of their mail.
You can block messages from certain demographics, such as married men, from emailing you. Click on mail settings in the drop down box under 'mail' in the toolbar.
The messages aren't actually blocked, but delivered to your Filtered mailbox.

E. What are Filter Settings?

You can filter out foreign users to help prevent receiving scams/spams.
You can also block according to gender, relationship status or age (demographics).
Their messages will be delivered to your Filtered mailbox.

sorry, but you can't block in advance. you need to have received an email from the person first.

If I could suggest, email them. Get them really mad. If they reply back, POOF, you can block them. If not, then at least you've vented some steam.

Some people know how to get around messaging you. I'm getting really frustrated with this certain individual who can't take a hint that I don't want to be on their friends list...

I have this same situation... this person has over 1000 friends and I have never had any contact with him... yet every couple of months or so I get a friends request that I decline.... and boom... a few weeks or months go by and there he is again... wanting to be my friend

Well I decided to let that friends request just SIT THERE and NOT deny it nor approve it. The friends request I'm sure is just to satisfy his ego. I've written the fool and asked for him not to send any more requests of anything. So now it takes NON action!

Burns, us friends? What request?

Seriously?

What I do to letters from scammers? Immediately answer them back and ask for naked pictures. Then with every subsequent letter, I tell them that I cannot correspond until they show me the goods. They dont write me long.

I realize this prolly wouldnt work as well for the women though.

I think eventually it does fall off though and they can send another request.

I've had one guy send me mulitple requests and I've never approved or denied any of them, but about every 6 months or so I get a new request from him. I also get new winks from him even though he's winked many times before.

It would be nice if you could pre-block or if you could block without opening the email that you know is something you don't want to read.

I've had friends requests stay in my pending file for ages....neither approved or declined. Some guy named "richard" something or other has requested maybe 2 or 3 times, and I do decline him every time..I'm like who the hell is "richard?" But it's no biggy to me to decline it.

Winks are allowed every so often...not sure what the time limit is on them.

But as for having another method to be able to block profiles...that would be great, but as it is we have to get emails first.
