This is a new discussion and not directly related to the thread that was locked,
with a similar/same title, I didn't read it all and don't particularly want to.
This is certainly not a thread intended to thrash the site,
it is just for discussion and what people think...about the
'one comment per blog' currently in place..
I initially thought that the 'one comment per blog' rule was good,
it stopped people using the blog section as a chat or debate forum.
BUT I do think there are a majority who would like to use it as was
originally intended, and that is now impossible.
I will give you an example....the other day I commented on a blog and
asked the writer to delete my comment so that I could rewrite it.
Nothing sinister, may I add, but I was unable to add another comment
because of the new rules.
'Originally intended '- A means to communicate without abusing the
system in attempting to multiple post and gain the blog a higher
rating, or remain on the 'last commented page' 
That is how I see it, and I don't enjoy it so much.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this...
both positive and negative, but please.. this is not to bash the site,
it's a discussion, so please don't join it if that is your purpose.

I noticed that you posted on the message board and not the blog section.(I don't read blogs usually so I'm only assuming you didn't make a blog).
Here, people can comment more than once, which is what the message board is for. Some people (most people?) were using the blogs as their own message board and deleting/not allowing comments.
I applaud MD's decision

the blogging section was added a couple of years ago as a benefit for those who'd like to have their thoughts, personal writings, or journals attached to their profiles. we had no intent of creating a sub-culture within our overall matchdoctor community, nor did we anticipate the need for having to restate our posting rules and policies. obviously some people don't realize that this is all one site and seem to require or demand rules tailored specifically to every individual situation.
then I read this...

I posted this in the forum and not the blog section, because it is for debate
and not a blog.
Here, people can comment more than once, which is what the message board is for. Some people (most people?) were using the blogs as their own message board and deleting/not allowing comments.
That is entirely correct, some people just never understood that.

Sometimes comments are made on blogs and then when more thought is added,
further comments could enhance the blog. It's not a forum or chat issue, but that
has been taken advantage of as late.
Also mistakes can be made on comments, that the writer may request to have
removed and rewritten.

That is entirely correct, some people just never understood that. THAT's why! People put dumb jokes, petty rants and insults for blogs.
The blogs got abused and now MD has changed it. Hopefully they'll get rid of blogs altogether.

I agree with you here... and maybe a ten minute window for editing might not be hard to implement ..
but I do remember when editing a post was not possible..and all that took was proof reading and double checking before clicking on the "post" button...
but technology has advanced ...

As intended by the site- not a discussion or furum or chat area
I am pleased that that 'chat/dicussion' element has gone,
it's made it a better place in my eyes...but then, who wants to
see the world through my eyes.

choosie...thus far, I have to say, I have no issues with the new "one comment per blog" rule. There has been ONE occasion (that I am aware of) that I, personally, made an error & posted my comment....noticing the error AFTER it posted. That taught me to be SURE to re-read my comment very carefully prior to hitting the post button from now on.
With regards to adding further commentary to blogs, you might refer to the blog I posted on May 20th, which I believe was the day the new rule was put in place.
I'd also like to mention, that it is my understanding that when MD ORIGINALLY instituted the blogs here, NO COMMENTS were allowed at all.

It shouldn't even matter now should it? One way or another? Simple rule of commonsense. Don't like don't look. Serious.
I scratch my ass, how many want to watch that? Doesn't matter. Who looks, looks. Who doesn't, doesn't. Think I'm gonna give a damn how many comments or who does or doesn't? I feel for the MatchDoc. Management. Sound more like an " oh would you people just shut the hell up. Whine, whine, damn it waiter I said Wine! I need more wine. For some peach and quite we gonna muffle the bitch a lots."
Huge Kudos for adding the delete video though.
I take it back. I don't want the job at matchdoctor. Ya couldn't pay me either to run an adult day care.  Now where I put my ball?

Sometimes, one comment is not enough. Sometimes I might want to add something to the original comment....
Maybe, one comment per blog per day would be a good compromise

IMHO, moving on from everyone's one post per blog, leaves fresh blogs up.
Get rid of last commented on, also.
And-I agree with Daisy-I watch a person's blog once, comment. if if I feel the need-write if I have more to say..........

I totally agree with eternal,  ............. Hi loreli.......  .............I found myself writing something then.........I post it an moments later I thought ohhhhhh shooot........... I wanted to say this................ and I can't ......which is some good points I wanted to add.......or maybe something else........
Too many... ... good bloggers here.. ............I don't agree ........that we should get rid of them..........and..............I know a few .  ..........  ........uhhmmm.......that are your dearest........  that write some good one's..............

I love the one comment per blog. I did make a mistake the other day, not realizing the new rule had been implemented. I just commented that I couldn't see the site that was linked. Later, through PMs, I found the site but couldn't take back my comment. Now I'll be more careful.
