Yep, me too. I actually make an effort at my spelling now. I do like the one comment per blog rule. To have something so simple fix so much is amazing. I am really enjoying blog land again, and I thank the Mod(s) for cleaning up the yard. It makes it much more fun to play in!

I suppose it puts the 'most popular' blogs where they should be.
AND that has to be good.
Just sometimes...I wish I could make another comment....

In the 1980's, Tip O'Neill who was serving as Speaker of the House at the time, ordered CSPAN's cameras to pan the entire House Chamber during "extension of remarks." The extension of remarks period falls at the end of the legislative day and traditionally was used for speeches lauding the local Boy Scouts.
When Newt Gingrich and his gang arrived on the scene, they began to use the time period to attack other members of the House, accuse them of being communists, etc. Gingrich and his gang would even wag their fingers and point as if the accused were in the room. The atmosphere they were trying to and did succeed in conveying was that the accused had nothing to say in their defense, because it was all true. Infuriated, O'Neill instructed the CSPAN cameras to cease their exclusive focus on the speaker and pan the House. It was then the public learned no one else was in the room.
While most people then realized the emperor had no clothes, the damage had been done. My first boss on Capitol HIll was accused by Gingrich of being a communist for authoring a letter to the US Department of State asking for an investigation in to the murder of a Maryknoll nun. He lost his bid for re-election, in part, because of this unfounded accusation.
I bring this story up, because I find that the new rules against multiple posting on blog is parallel to the CPAN antics of the Gingrich gang. I responded to a blog about evolution. The blog's author asked a question and requested links and proof. I did so, I posted a response that contained a series of links, etc. Nothing inflammatory. In turn, I was personally attacked by the poster of the blog. I have seen this tactic used over and over again since the adoption of this new rule.
Well you can say, I have ability (if I'm not blocked) to send an email to this miscreant. But how do I clear my good name to those individuals who read the blog at a latter time?
Furthermore, I feel that this new rule does little to address the blog cowards, the individuals who post forum topics in the blogs, because they are too "timid" to post their topics in the forums where they belong. Indeed, I believe that this new format is a godsend for blog cowards.
Since the adoption of the new rule, I have significantly reduced my participation in the blog section of this site.

imho...there is nothing to clear up in the blog, as you read it.. rebutted his words and he attacked you for it..
but if you want to have some fun.. start a thread with a hot link to "the blog that broke the rules.." to carry on the discussion to your hearts content.. the benefit is two fold.. one.. you get to say your piece .. and two .. more people will see this person for what he is...
and the bonus is.. that if more people did this... then the timid folk will think twice before trying to blog about a forum topic...

I think the 1 comment sucks....... but im a kudo whore so my opinion doesnt count!
It seems to me after being away for awhile that those, who complained the most about blogs, are now all gone.
I would like to see things the way they were, so I can make 59.5 comments on choosies blogs, and cast her into the world of the "elite"

It seems to me after being away for awhile that those, who complained the most about blogs, are now all gone. Personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed the "atmosphere" around here lately & I am in full acceptance of the "one comment per blog" rule......furthermore, I am anxiously anticipating the all NEW blog rules being posted soon!

Missliss, I mean, I'd like to be able to post a comment each day on a blog.
Say I'm the first to comment a blog, and then 5 or 6 comments down, somebody references something I said and I'd like to clarify. I'd like to be able to go back, wouldn't you? If they don't want us chatting on a blog, that's fine, but I think allowing us to comment once per day on any given blog would work JMO YMMV

Ah...now THAT makes perfect sense to me, EF! When I first read your comment, it seemed you were suggesting only one comment on one blog be allowed on each day. I think I was having another one of those "blonde moments." Thanks for the clarification!

Personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed the "atmosphere" around here lately I dunno, it seems like blogs are not getting read or commented on half as much as they used to. At least not mine. Maybe I need to do something different, though.

Lip....I've noticed that, too...but I think it's just a cycle this site & any site goes thru from time to time. It's spring/the beginning of summer....people are busier with their lives right now...not as much reading going on.
And besides, on the rare occasion I post a blog, however many views, comments or kudos it gets is really not the point...for me anyways.

I try to log on and peruse the Blogs every day.....I have definitely noticed that there were fewer Bloggers and fewer comments.
I find it frustrating to be so limited, and, find now, if someone has already stated thoughts that resemble mine, I just don't bother. I guess many people don't easily adapt to change, immediately.
My attitude has always been that I appreciate the opportunity that the Administration has given us with a free site. I understand that there will be a myriad of people on here with different thoughts and ideas, different abilities to express them, different levels of education, sophistication, and even language capabilities. I see it all, I choose which is of interest to me, don't waste my time speaking harshly to others with whom I disagree, and have no problem contacting them in private, with my polite and respectful comments.
I'm thinking that I will adjust to the new rules and, if, at any time I do not feel comfortable with them, perhaps I will Blog less, Read less, or just remain in the forums. There's a place for ALMOST everyone here, and if not, there's always deletion...that's the job of the Mods and Administration..
It's amazing how, once ya get to MY age, it's easier to roll with the punches.
Fondly, Knittin Kitten

I do find it annoying sometimes.
I commented on a blog the other day to say that there was part of the blog missing, my comment was deleted and I cannot make a further comment on that blog.

Not having been here I'll presume that something happened to prompt this change. I know that I've read warning after warning from the moderator about there being too many violation of the rules in the blog section. I guess they finally had enough. Still I agree with choos on this. As blog comments are made sometimes clarification of a point is needed and also it could be that a person thinks of something else after they hit the post button.
