What MD should consider is moving every forum thread disguised as a blog to the forums, that's the only cure for the "blog cowards."

What is a blog coward? The one that posts insults right after a comment so you cannot respond - since you just used up your one comment? Or is it a blogger that makes up crap to get attention, and when gets none, has to post her own comments (and kudos?). I am from boM where we only had forums and that seemed a bit more controlled than some of what I've expereinced so far with trolls attacking anyone new.

Hey MOD how about lets all work together on this. From reading I understand why you stopped the unlimited comments on the blogs......................... But how about trying a compromise of Three comments per blog please ????????????/ Thank you, Paul

Would be nice if the blogger could only make one comment per blog, as well. Some people are taking wholehearted advantage of the new rules to allow people to post a thoughtful rebuttal, then tearing it apart (with no relation between their criticism and the actual comment posted) without the commentor given the opportunity to respond.

If everybody keeps complaining, we're gonna end up with NO comments per blog.
SNG, sometimes a comment might require clarification, and rather than editing the whole blog, I post a comment in reply to the comment. Some bloggers use the privilege properly...so again, you're suggesting punishing all for the actions of a few. We've already had that happen once, and the majority aren't happy about it. Why do it again?
Perhaps, since the chronic blog abusers have gone to more 'serene' pastures, we could lift the one comment rule and see what happens? JMO

JMO your assumption is.. that the chronic abusers are normal people...I can see it now.. them coming back in droves chortling how they got the mods to bow to their wishes.. and in 24 hours everything goes back to how it was before the 1 comment rule became the norm...

Think we should stick with the comment rule and also limit the OP to a single comment

I just wrote a comment for a blog and it won't fit all my text in it.
I went back to try to write it with less words, but still I can't post my whole comment.

one comment should do. However, it would be great for people like I who do typos and say something at times which could be misunderstood. Words are dangerous, you know. If it was not so that words could mislead no lawyers would earn their bread. It's not quite clear to me though how many blogs one can hand in. Life is changing, our priorities might change, we might simply want to tell what bugs us at certain times.

Sad that cowboy's gone, but before the new rule, a blog coward was a person who put up a forum topic in the blogs so that he or she could only allow postings that agreed with their point of view. If they put the issue up in the forums, they would be forced to defend their viewpoints.
Under the new rules, a new type of blog coward has emerged, one in which I have come across personally, and that is the individual who mounts a personal attack against you after you posted something substantive to their blog.

I like the rule. It enforces that public conversations are kept in the forums. It also makes for some pretty funny stuff when you see a guy posting 8-10 times on his own blog with no other comments because his own little circle already had their swing.

As far as I know, the only BoM I'm aware of is another singles site...Book of Matches. However, each site has it good points and definitely has its problems. As much as I don't like some of the things that occur on this site, I still enjoy it very much.
If nothing else, I at least feel better knowing WHY things are being discontinued. And, usually, it's because of abuse of the privilege. Hopefully, I'll never become one of the abusers.....
